Do you want Trump to stop tweeting about topics unrelated to policy?

He could do better by keeping it to business, but you know people like me who are here taking this poll really aren't the ones he's trying to reach with those tweets. Just saying.

  • Nicole Fiskin - 7 years ago

I forgot to say in my previous post that, I do support President Trump, and have pretty much from the beginning. Proud to have voted for him!

  • Nicole Fiskin - 7 years ago

YES!! Stop tweeting about unimportant bullshit! So some celebrity bashed you on an awards show or on twitter, who the F**# cares! You beat them all! You won! Your the President of the United States of America! The leader of the free world! Grow up and start acting like it. If Kellyanne needs to take away your access to twitter again to get the bullshit tweets to stop, I say, go for it Kellyanne!
Now that I got that out of my system, I do think there is and could be tremdeous power in tweeting. He could literally dictate the media news coverage, if it is used for only important things or to highlight a news story that isn't being covered, and done occasionally. If he is smart about his tweeting, I think he could possibly win people over quicker and easier, because the media wouldn't have anything to blow a gasket about. Because lets face it, there is a big portion of the country that only watches one news sites or newspaper, so if all they are covering is his stupid tweet and making up fake news stories, they are not going to change their mind about Trump.

  • patricia - 7 years ago

Yes although I support President Trump100% the tweeting is just giving the media more stuff to bring him down .he needs to find another outlet for his frustration with those that try to bring him down. I hope that he knows that we the voters are behind him all the way and nothing the media says or does is going to change that. He has already proven to us he is a great man and will do wonders for this country. We know it won't all be good for all individuals but it will ultimately be good for our country and the future of our children. He needs to stop worrying about his popularity with the left! Unfortunately the left has become America's enemy....

Completely agree, that Tweets could have precision maximum effect when selectively applied. Critical Mass requires critical action. And, we're RIGHT THERE! Mr. President! Focus your buttocks, with that beautiful staff, on policy development and implementation. We, your social media foot-soldiers, will spread it like a big fat PBJ! THERE, our Liberal Brethren! How's THAT, for a free lunch! (BTW, DML, Ms. Mary, Harlan, Scarlet, Staff - Bravissimo!)

What many are failing to realize or understand is Obama not only change the political fabric of our nation but the very foundation of the culture. As the leader he made certain to change everything from the military culture to pop culture. We are now at a stage where virtually every perversion is "Made" openly mainstream. We are at a crossroads where even pedophilia is beginning to be accepted by some outlets.

So, it isn't merely "Government" involvement in society that Trump is working to change, for the better I might add, but literally the Entire structure of our society. We should not be so myopic in thinking only the policies put forth by an administration in conjunction with legislation are the only concerns a nation has.

As has been noted, the Islamic Jihadists were at War with us but we were not at war with them. There is little difference between those destructors of society and the liberal mindset that also seeks to destroy this once great culture. We are in a culture War with not only jihadists but also the liberal left. I have panned through local channels on what type of content is on the airwaves these days and am thoroughly disgusted by what is considered entertainment. There is little exception to this disgust. This is not a new phenomenon but has progressed to a point of sheer decadence. We wonder WHY and "how" Jihadists can perform such brutality on another human being. Has ANYONE ever considered the effect "entertainment" media has had on the human psyche. What THEY have been doing in "reality" is what Hollywood has been displaying on the screen in the most realistic images possible. Our own arrogance in viewing this entertainment has resulted in it being visited upon US. I began noticing This in the 70's when violence was only beginning to show reality. By the 80's it was so realistic I subsequently quit watching any of this "entertainment". There is a Great old saying, "What one generation Tolerates the next generation will Embrace". Now, look today on how much We are "embracing" AND tolerating.

Lest we forget it is Not only the networks that are the impediments to regaining a culture but the myriad of local institutions. I live in a Very conservative state YET the news media are virtually all of the political left. It is These consumers that will benefit the most from Trumps methodology of communication. THEY are the foot soldiers of cultural change. When one is in a war you cannot go without an attack on the small platoon because they will attack you from behind and then you are left with the opposing forces on the front AND rear flanks.

I'm behind President Trump...but he has to stop responding out of anger or frustration particularly on trivial matters and stick with policy. Liberals will find enough to complain about...he mustn't give them fuel for the fire.

  • Lisa Orr - 7 years ago

I support President Trump 100% but I voted yes. Let us, the people that helped him get elected, let us call out the Stores that drop the Trump line, the actors that show him in a negative light, or the media that puts bias and fake news out. We need him fully focused on the issues. We can only hope he is reelected in 4 years but it is not guaranteed and we need him to accomplish as much as he can in these next 4 years. There is so much evil to overcome and it doesn't look like it is going to get any easier.

  • Barbara - 7 years ago

This is my personal opinion and I think President have much more important things to do, twitter is just distraction, and not to use for public office, White House,

  • Shannon Bullock - 7 years ago

I voted YES only bc he needs to stop calling out the media on the "they won't show my support" WE know we support him and so does he. They nose the left makes is attractive to the medie. It makes for good gossip We know the left has gone MAD and we NEED the world to see just how crazy they are! Since our President won't the election, there are now WAY MORE people saying "I cannot believe their actions. I'll never vote Democrat again!" That's a good thing! Keep them in the headlines making fools of themselves! They'll lose every seat!

  • Jeff - 7 years ago

Stop the tweets all together! Do what you have to do within the confines of your office! I don't want to know about Mexico not paying for the wall! Just get the job done! I don't care who you hang up the phone on! That's your job. That's why we the people elected you! I'm thankful that you think by tweeting that you get to bypass the media and get to explain the way you want? But for me it's unpresidential. It's like being a kid with a toy he enjoys sticking in the face of others. STOP IT PLEASE!!!

  • Vincent Sweeney - 7 years ago

Trump's tweets get the media and Dem's panties in a bunch,, not mine. He leads the narrative, not them. I care not what the media, or Dems think or say. They are all liars, and unAmerican imho.

  • Amy - 7 years ago

I support our president 100%. I like a lot of the tweeting but some are a little overboard and the media would much rather twist, turn and over dramatize every word, action or tweet. I just wish he didn't give them ammunition to spend all their coverage time on the tweets rather than all the fantastic things he is accomplishing already! Leave the defensive tweets and comments that need made to your supporters to make. We got your back!

  • Daniel Munyon - 7 years ago

Donald Trump is who he is. His ability to reach everyone is part of the reason he is our president and not Clinton.

  • Dawn McClain - 7 years ago

I believe President Trump is diligently working to protect us and keep his campaign promises. He needs to stay on track and post positive things. When he engages with those who are trying to tear him down he gives them credibility. He is stooping to their level. I want him to stay on task and ignore their petty remarks.

  • Judith Courtwright - 7 years ago

I am solidly behind President Trump. Some of his tweets paint him petty and swatting mosquitoes. I see those as a gauge of how well he is or isn't growing into the place he now occupies in the world. They are far beneath his position.

  • lori bell - 7 years ago

tweeting is the new updated form of television.
he tweets whats bothering him or on his mind. i'm fine with his tweeting and so is my husband. he has gotten more done then obama did in 8 years. jobs and businesses coming back. he deserves a thumbs up.

  • barb - 7 years ago

I would love for the BS to stop, NOT EVERY COMMENT NEEDS A REMARK. I would like for the MEDIA TO BE UP TO THEIR OWN NECKS WITH THE BS THEY REPORT, AND OUR PRESIDENT TO FOCUS ON THE SAFETY OF OUR COUNTRY, THE WALL, THE ILLEGALS, JOBS, OUR MILITARY, THE ELDERLY, THE THINGS THAT MATTER TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. WE HAVE ENOUGH NEGATIVITY IN THE WORLD WITHOUT OUR PRESIDENT BEING AT WAR WITH THE MEDIA DAILY. PEOPLE KNOW THE BS THEY REPORT. SO PLEASE STOP WITH THE NEGATIVE TWEETS, WE NEED POSITIVE UPLIFTING MESSAGES. THANK YOU.

  • Greg - 7 years ago

This poll encompasses a miniscule amount of people.

We do know from the campaign how Trump perceives the media complex. It is quite possible that a goal of his is to neuter that media. His actions can be compared to a boxing match since he IS in a fight. There are times in a match where you land significant body blows. This can be compared to the fake news blows. Then there are times when the boxer keeps jabbing to weaken the opponent. These are the social comment tweets. All in all, everything done is to keep the media on defense. In all these situations HE is setting the agenda. They are "responding" TO him and about him. This same media didn't learn their lesson during the primary and the general campaigns and they are literally staying on defense.

For Dennis to say to ignore it is the Exact Same strategy the Republicans have been doing for years. Have they furthered anything by that strategy. They would ignore virtually all the lies perpetrated by Democrats. They "assumed" people would understand and accept Their arguments. I agree More with David Horowitz and his perceptions when he speaks about "The Big Agenda". HE was there at the beginning and wrote about "The New Left" and how it came about. He knows more about countering this infestation.

  • Susan Brooks - 7 years ago

Stay the course Mr. President. Canada is counting on your success, just as much as your America is.....I understand defending family, just as passionately as you defend the people but mom always told me when dealing with bullies...Turn the other cheek...Walk away and do what's needed...The bullies will tire and go away ????????????????????

  • Kathy Scott - 7 years ago

I believe that he needs to stop tweeting period
and not respond in any way about rantings and ravings. I feel it is unprofessional and immature and we do not want this route of representation.

  • Frances McBride - 7 years ago

He is running the country, thank God he is. But it is also like raising children. Pay attention to the Good and you get more good. Pay attention to the bad and you get more bad. Pick and choose your battles carefully!

  • Georgette Diesso - 7 years ago

If President Trump wants to use tweeter that's fine. But he needs to stop tweeting back to all those morons that are tweeting nonsense about him. He needs to pay no mind to what all those fools have to say. I say don't drop to there levels by tweeting them. Keep the tweeting for his presidential use only.

  • R Steen - 7 years ago

He should keep any tweets to the business of his presidential work, and keep them to a limit,
Don't feed them MSM and libs to keep the storm rolling, we are tired of that crap. Most important now
find all who worked for Barry, and remove them any position in and around the white house, then find out
who is loyal to President within the Republicans located there. No more leaks of the business at hand, only the president should with guided hands and thoughts should announce what needs to be put out. That way
media has nothing until he wants something known. Meanwhile clean house of all undesirables NOW!
And give him all his cabinet leaders so he can get to work in all areas enough of the BS. Wishing President much success for we the people, it's not about the idiots anymore

  • Steven Carpenter - 7 years ago

No need to tweet about Arnold and celebs, anything other than policy, news media, fake news and getting the job as president done!

  • Mary - 7 years ago

I think Tweeting messages to explain his stance on policies or clarify false information about something he has said or reasons behind his decisions is fine. But I find quick short Tweets (or comments during press meetings, etc) to counter-attack stupid SNL, Swartzenhagger, Rosie O'Donnell comments, etc. to be unnecessary & unproductive. Trump supporters who paid attention to the awful things going on throughout the primaries knows him/why he does this (and I admit they have made me laugh sometimes). But others that don't have this background can easily see them as an unwarranted out-of-the-blue attack on others. And they are also fueling his opponents. He won the highest position in the free world and should be proud. It's now time to lead by example and focus on what his voters and the American people want to know - how he is going to help Make America Great Again! He has a tough road ahead of him but I hope he keeps in mind that he is not traveling it alone - he has a great team and his voters will be by his side the entire ride! Go President Trump! MAGA

  • patricia herr-conde - 7 years ago

How are you going to have any clue what the man really is or how he thinks and reacts if you do not want his personal tweets on his PERSONAL account? The Fireside Chats were rambling thoughts on everything from movies to WAR so get your heads together and get to know how he thinks.

  • Maria Kendrick - 7 years ago

I do not mind the President tweeting, but I believe he should only do so for important issues and dispel what the MSM is putting out there that is not true. I believe the left is using his Tweeting as a "poking mechanism" and he is responding. Some time I think that diminishes him. I like that the President wants to keep us, the American people, informed about his plans, ideas and feelings, however, at times he needs to let things go and not lose his time and tarnish his image responding to all the comments people make, especially if those comments come from the morons in Hollyweird... Do not lower yourself to their level! The better part of class at times is to just ignore stupidity, and if the object of those who tweet moronic stuff does not respond, then it takes away the ammunition for them to continue. God bless you Mr. President...... speak softly and carry a big stick....... that's the way to go...... you will be taken more seriously by those who want to bring you down. You have millions of us who have your back!

  • Susan - 7 years ago

I understand the importance of President Trump tweeting with regards to politics. At the same time he needs to stay focused on his truth because the media is biased. When you are so passionate about issues whether personal or political, i believe needs to keep them separate.

  • Dan Manyen - 7 years ago

Some tweets of the personal nature need to be addressed, before the liberal/lying press can spin and include them as reasons for Trumps policies and decisions. Most regular people can see many are coming from those bent on Trumps failure. But Donald himself has indeed invited some of the more silly back and forth tweets, that really amount to nothing but more liberal and media ammo to their claimed insincerity of him to the job. Those are the ones that hurt him and us the most. The job of supporting Donald from day one had some tough ruts in that road. Only his ultimate vision and understanding of Americas real problems and its fixes, kept me and 60 million others on the train. I think we all thought the rough section of that ride was over, but seems it is not. As our head conductor on this train back to posterity, safety and age old freedoms, we need Donald to watch for liberal and media logs across the tracks. To change all the minds of those laying the logs and not temp so much any new saboteurs.

  • Sandra Swanson - 7 years ago

Tweets about MSM are fair game. Defending his children, wife and staff members is his choice. The Arnold thing was silly. I am so fed up with the attacks on him and he needs to find out who is leaking info.

  • Shirley Blanchard - 7 years ago

President Trump is just feeding the fire and that's what they want. They will continue this tactic as long as he responds or not, but let's get back to business which actually will irritate them more because it's not "their" agenda!!!

  • Kay Oswalt - 7 years ago

Conservatives don't act out like Liberals. We resist in private, at home, in the voter box. We don't wear vaginas hats and destroy property. We don't take away free speech and pepper spray someone who's opinions differ. President Trump's show of resistance to MSM, Hollywood and the extreme Left is what brings to the surface all the Lefts resistance and how crazy and broken they've become. Even their own lawmakers and constituents are waking up to the absurdity of it all. It needs to be exposed. Trump's call to putting a stop to PC insanity is effective in his Tweets on all fronts. Let him Tweet away!

  • Norma Gilbert - 7 years ago

The only comments that I thought were bad taste was his Tweets about Arnold. Then Arnold Tweeted back. I don't know if they were joking or not. Either way that conversation should have taken place through Direct Message just between the 2 of them. Other than that he's doing good.

  • Norma Gilbert - 7 years ago

  • Millie Smith - 7 years ago

Its his Twitter. He can use it how he wants. Free speech and all. And if it weren't him noone would care. Its really stupid how the rest of the other side preys on his every sentence. Smh people grow up!! Highly recommend you all read the book "unoffendable". It would help ALOT of America!!

  • John Sipper - 7 years ago

President Trump has to start ignoring the comments made by hollywood elitists and some of the left wing media personalities. If he were to stop responding it would take away ammunition for future attacks. I like when he responds to news stories that have be spun to make his administration look bad, but want him to ignore the likes of Meryl Streep.

  • Sara - 7 years ago

I love his tweets........No one has to be serious all the time. The best part is, we get it straight from him and do not have to second guess whether he said it or not.

  • Laurie - 7 years ago

Should stop tweeting. Only makes matters harder. We all understand frustration. BUt, media and Dems use these things against him. Trump has his supporters to spread the mean and obnoxious things these people do. These are the things we do for him. Its called, we have Trumps, back.

  • Cass - 7 years ago

I think he should dump his twitter account.

  • Suzie Lake - 7 years ago

I think he should stop the personal attacks because it gives the media a story to trash him. If he keeps to facts nobody can touch him. Like the 72% of refugees coming from the 7 countries since travel ban was lifted. Perfect. The Mark Cuban one...NO!!

  • William Randall Hosey - 7 years ago

I love the fact that the left wing libtards have met there match. Do you want just lies from the media. Excellent job Mr President. Thanks your keeping your promises.

  • Shirley Favela - 7 years ago

Why should he give up his rights? I think he should do whatever he wants to do.

  • Don Ray - 7 years ago

President Donald Trump should be able to tweet about whatever he wants to tweet about. This is his Outlet to respond to fake news that the unfair media lies about all the time. It doesn't matter what President Trump says or does he is criticized either way. Donald Trump is still a citizen of this country as well as our Great President. God bless him and I wish him well. Mr.President keep up the good work. Keep the media on their toes, the refugees an illegal imigrants out of country!!! #Keep us safe.

  • BSav - 7 years ago

He will show himself to be bigger than the menial msm and such. Take the high road Mr. President, Sir.

  • Margot Eichenlaub - 7 years ago

It's President Trumps personal tweet account If it was an account separate from his personal account then only Presidential tweets His personal Twitter however He should be able to post what he wants as long as it isn't indecent or immoral just like everyone else

  • yelena smetsky - 7 years ago

He will only secure himself if he will stop tweeting. He has enough of sources to announce his position
