Mostly I have just unfollowed, but had to block a couple of internet friends during the campaign. We were told there was to be no political discussion at Thanksgiving, which I found laughable since the Liberal cousin is the one most likely to rant. Plus I live in CA where my vote didn't count for beans. So to hear these people shriek at me for not voting Hillary is funny. I wouldn't have voted for her under any circumstances.

I lost several Facebook friends, 1 lifelong friend, 2 what I thought to be good friends and my youngest sister.

I haven't lost any friends or family relationships because we decided our relationship meant more. We know how we feel and can talk openly about our feelings on Trump! I don't back down because TRUMP IS MY PRESIDENT!

My husband and I both have unfriended several close family members due to their Trump hate. I dropped out of a senior lady coffee group due to Trump bashing. You'd think old ladies would know better. I vowed to never go back. I've received apologies, but have no desire to socialize with them. We live in southern California and feel like we are surrounded by hatred.

I thought I had, but it turns out that has changed. I've got them following DML. Now things for all good

I lost my brother. Haven't spoken to him since inauguration day. He spent the entire day trashing me on my Facebook page. Her brought my children into it and our deceased father into it. It was very bad and so disappointing. He refused to stop so I was forced to unfriend him. I'm pretty sure it's permanent. ????

I guess a divorce after 11 years qualifies for a 'lost relationship.' Though problems have been mounting for quite some time, I never dreamt he would come unglued because I found my voice and no longer choose to live in the background. I have young kids and want to leave them with an America to be proud of. When his ridiculousness led to him sitting in marriage counseling screeching about me becoming obsessed with 'fake news,' supporting a 'fascist' POTUS, and adopting a hyper-religious viewpoint because I posted on FB that I stand with Israel in the face of Obama's BS....... It finally dawned on me that getting my kids away from him (who was with Her) is probably the BEST decision afterall. I thank him daily now. My life now has full purpose: MY God, MY kids, MY integrity, MY country..... And if you stand in the way of any of those..... BUCKLE UP, BUTTERCUP!!!! #DMLrocks

No, My family are Trump supporter. In fact my watches Foxs and yells at the people on television if they put President Trump down. I think it's quite funny! No one wins with her! Thank God were all Republicans because if Moms not happy no ones happy lol. So it's good we all agree. I don't talk politics with my friends.

I lost one person, but they were so hard-core it was a relief not to see their postings. Most we ignore political posts from either side in the sake of peace.

It was so bad that at one point some of us made a pledge to not allow the election to destroy our relationships.

  • Neysa Rinkenberger - 7 years ago

Yes I have but that is ok. You really find out who your true friends are. It also reveals their beliefs. If their beliefs do not agree with yours it is best to not have them in your circle of friends. Some that I am not "friends"with have definitely revealed their true selves and what their motives are for every day living.
