I don't like the idea of if you have NO insurance than you get penalized. I know when we fill our Taxes out that statement comes up every time. If people can't afford to pay the premiums, than why would they try to force them to pay for not having it! God Bless these people just trying to make ends meat!

They need to at least remove the penalty for not having Healthcare. If they want to fine someone then fine the companies that don't offer insurance. It's not affordable for us. According to Obama care we make to much to get discounts. Though we can't afford 400$ a month and on top of that will need to find a new PCP doctor cause it's not in their network. That's just for my husband to get insurance. So we don't get it cause we can't afford but get fined 695$ at the end of the year. Those are the changes I feel need to happen.

Do not kick the can down the road...its not that hard for any polishitians to actually work for a change. Stop complaining about the election outcome & trying to filibuster a filibuster because you dont like the outcome or the incoming change of guard who follows the law and exposes the truth.

Repeal & replace. It's not that hard...should have had a plan to sit down with insurers & pharma & hash out a well thought plan. Its not that hard to be proactive while simultaneously be active. They can set up a ways & means commitee or budgetal impact committee but they cant set up a health care committee? What the heck do we pay tax dollars to their salaries for sitting on their arses with finger sittin & spinnin?

We need to repeal and replace. I agree to keep the precondition clause and the child up to 26 as long as they are in school. I have been married for 34 years and I'm those years we have always had health insurance through our jobs. We have always had to pay into it and then pay co-pay when seeing a doctor. Since Obamacare and the majority of businesses revamping their insurance policies to afford the damn thing we now still pay into it every month but now we also have a $3,000.00 dollar deductible before anything is paid for. We both are very healthy and rarely see a doctor so we never will meet the deductible unless something tragic happens. We have 3 adult daughters and the fact that within our health insurance and yours we are paying for their birth control....nobody but my husband and me paid for mine. It's ridiculous that people are paying for things they do not need. We're all for helping people out and we do our part believe me but we also believe that people HAVE to help themselves and we are sick and tired of people taking advantage of the system and the Dems not caring about the middle class. Our daughters have hundred of thousands (pull all three together) of school loans but still pay for their own health insurance, they all have jobs and have been working since teenagers. Why do we accept the entitlement mentality, we NEED to Repeal/Replace I'm sure it will be renamed.

Repeal, Replace and RENAME! Erase his name from anything to do with the new program. He is so unworthy of being remembered in any fashion except "the worst President" in the history of America!!!!!!!!

I'm on Medicare, but it was promised to the people and they can do it if they work on it! I am a retired RN and true affordable care is necessary ...average people cannot afford high deductibles and high premiums. If the GOP renig on this, we will get those liberal Dems back in power again. Repeal and replace!!!

Dawn, before you get too upset, remember that President Trump is doing all he can do to keep his promises.....more than I have ever seen a president do in my lifetime! However, he can only sign the bills that congress sends to his desk! Keep a close eye on Republicans in congress and be sure to remind them that there will be midterm elections. If the Republicans don't get behind Trump's agenda....replace them with ones who will! I think if we the people pay attention and see who needs to be weeded out, President Trump's first term will be good but his second term will be GREAT!!

Luckily, I personally, don't have to deal with it....but I think if the BAD parts of it are fixed...whether that is a FULL replacement or not....should happen...and keep the small amount of good parts like the extension of allowing "older children' to be on it and cover PRE existing conditions.....etc....

  • Michele - 7 years ago

Mostly definitely. The chance for repeal of Obamacare is one of the main reasons I voted for Trump. There were other reasons too, but that was a big one. I have had to deal with it both personally and professionally to know what a nightmare it is firsthand.

I agree with other comments. Rename the new deal. Make clear the kids up to age 26 inclusion. As well as the pre-existing conditions clause. Open it up across state lines.

Offer the new ideas as well as Ocare, if they want...and watch all these folks flock away from it when offered a choice!

Bottom line...any perceived capitulation will be exaggerated and used against Trump by the elites and press, come election time. Republicans, use one of those choices that Obama had to veto, and get to work! For Obamacare AND tax revision code!

Does this make sense? Repeal and replace O- Care, then rename new care, but put sections we want to keep from O- care in New care. Thats the best i can explain...sorry.

Although I put yes, it's not an educated decision as I don't know all that Obamacare contains. Another choice is just replace the bad parts. There must be a few good things in there, but not sure. That should have been a choice on your poll.

I agree with Dawn. I am fortunate enough to have employer-based insurance but there are a lot in the country who are suffering and getting fined.

  • Dawn - 7 years ago

The reason I would be upset is because it would be a broken promise made by Potus Trump.
