How has Chiarelli done overall as Oilers GM?

Absolutely removing old Oilers Lowe and MacT was the real major move. Lucic isn't paid for goals, more like a motivational speaker. Plus, he will perform in the playoffs (oh I hope so). Using chemotherapy to remove a malignant Hall was smart. May need a second round on RNH and Eberle if they don't clear up. Compared to what was going on here for the last decade the man is a goddamn genius!

Hey Pauly. great hockey comment, really insightful....you have some sort of problem with question marks, or skipping your grade 6 English class????????
Nice day out there, find something to do.

if you held a companies stock that lost money for 10 straight years you would vote to clean house and change management. Lowe and McTavish changing out were the two best decisions made for this organization . Period.

In general, Chiarelli has been right on the mark. Maroon and Russell were diamond signings, Talbot was a cornerstone signing. Yakupov was a move on a bad fit. Lucic has been the biggest disappointment, showing only glimpses of the effort and skill that was promised and paid for. He really needs to have his feet held to the fire and start to earn his money. (We already have a few in that stratosphere.) In not making any big moves at the deadline (Davidson was pretty much a goner with the expansion, anyway.), Chiarelli was saying, I'm content with our overall progress, but we're not there yet guys and so I'm not selling the farm to make a run that is questionable. They are a much more cohesive team, but still a bit inconsistent and underwhelming on given nights (poor starts are a real problem). They have potential to be great, but group effort is sometimes suspect.
If things go great in the next several months, he may revisit those final pieces, but more likely, if things just go okay, I believe he will make a serious move to shop Eberle (and perhaps Lucic or Nugent-Hopkins, although I still believe in the Nuge) at the draft.

Am I using enough question marks????

Still lukewarm re: Lucic's term and dollars....I think he's been good for the team this year, but, 2 or 4 years from now?????? Not that old, but a lot of hard miles on the body...
Can someone please clarify Khairi's status re the expansion draft?? Read the rules, seems he should be exempt, however, still reading he could be exposed???? Which is it?? Really would hate to lose him....
