Health should be a universal right and not a perk for the rich. Human jobs are not a guarantee in this society where machines are rapidly replacing people. Being able and eager is not enough to guarantee employment, and if it does, the benefits are not what they used to be.

I am not one who expects "free" healthcare. But the cost of healthcare and prescriptions are grossly expensive and out of control. And then the cost of health insurance to cover those expenses? Outragous as well! My Dr. "bitches" about it all of time. If we had free healthcare I would be concerned about the quality of it.

Get insurance out of healthcare. Make medical care like everything else we buy. Insurance is the main reason that healthcare costs are out of control. The only insurance for medical care should be catastrophic insurance. And get the government out of the private system. Have separate public hospitals where all care is free for all and then have a separate private system that operates on market principles.
No matter what the democrats and republicans do, the problems with the system will not be solved because Americans want the best care in the world but they are not willing to pay for it. They want "free" healthcare.
