I agree with""RTD speaks" - Running a train/rail down the front range from Ft. Collins to Denver, maybe further south is a much better plan. If I want to go to Boulder from Longmont I can take a Bus. If the economy continues to grow at its current pace, the BNSF tracks our train is to run on will be even busier then they are now making them expensive to lease. Not a feasible plan any longer, not sure if it really ever was.

Face it, RTD has zero intention of bring light rail here. We're just too far out with too few people. The growth restricting policies of Boulder County and ALL the towns within it's borders will guarantee that we will never have enough population for any sort of light rail to Longmont. Heck, we cannot even get a bus from Longmont to the airport.
We should take our money and join with the Northern Front range transit group and create a solution that works for us - Straight down I25 from Cheyanne to Denver and throw RTD and Denver under their bus.
your legacy for the future - 7 years ago
Did the founders build this town for their immediate needs or did they build this town looking towards the future? Face it, a bunch of you old people are going to pay for this train and you'll die before it ever arrives, but that is no reason not to build it. Future generations will appreciate what we did here. Build the Train! There were roads and schools here before you came along, do your part for the future!
