Gambit has the resistance to Telepathy and he can literally make anything effing EXPLODE except organic matter (which I'm not sure is true anymore). There is a reason that a version of Gambit was able to ruin Bishops future (The New Sun version of Gambit, which has the same powers and IS him just with a different past). Anyone that thinks Gambit would lose this fight doesn't know anything about Gambit.

jean espically if she has the phoenix force for even though gambit is immune to telepathy he is not immune to telekinisis so jean could just pick him up and ram the old cajun into a wall

16.Gambit with the upset. Part of Gambit’s power/skillset is his ability to charm and persuade people (let’s face it, particularly women). Jean Grey herself even admitted this in Jim Lee’s X-Men #1. With sufficient preparation, I think Gambit could get close enough to Jean for one shot, maybe a drugged glass of wine, or whatever.
