American companies in general are too relaxed when it comes to proper attire.
I'm happy to see United enforce such policy. Fly on an Asian airlines and what a difference there is from the crew to the cleanliness of the plane.
I understand you want to be comfortable when on a flight....but let's be tasteful about what you wear. Too many people don't care about how they look, what they wear, or how they act when out in the public. Good for United for standing strong on company policy!!

People these days are stretching the borders of good taste snd etiquette. Millenials and alike need to set some boundries on what is proper. There are too many nowadays wearing pajamas to shop and go out. They think they are cool and fashionable. I say it is a good reason to outlaw inbreeding.

This policy has been enforced for years. As an airline employee, when I give a buddy pass to a friend, or a family I always educate them on the appropriate dress attire as well as their behavior. If that is violated, we can lose our pass privileges for a period of time. As employees, we have a dress code as well as our pass riders. We are representing the airline we work for.

Dress code policy like this have been around for a long time. As a former airline employee I agree with it. The safety aspect of this has been ignored by the media. Spandex and other man made material will burn in a fire, and into your skin. From a safety stand point not wearing spandex makes perfect sense. People think about it.

These girls were flying for free or near-free because of a relationship with United. The airline has the right to require people who are taking advantage of this benefit to represent the company in a manner that fits the company's image.

Those girls were not actual employees just related - who would know that they were related? No one except the airline lol. To others they are just regular travellers. So, the premise that they are representing the airline makes no sense at all. Seriously!!!!

How about all the guys on the news team wear leggings!!! Have you ever seen a waitress wear 'Santa' leggings?? Sure is a site that puts a damper on you eating a meal!!!
Company rules for flying as an employee or a family member should stand. They have better class than other paying flyers I've seen on flights!!
