What's better: Reaching NIT finals or losing in NCAA's first round?

    If Techwins the and IT, and North Carolina wins the NCAA. Then the NIT Champion will nave beaten the NCAA champ ( tech beat UNC in their only regular season meeting ). So does that mean Georgia Tech is the national champions?

    Your "expert" opinion is that one and done at the dance is better for a first year coach, who's rebuilding a broken program, than playing to and possibly winning the nit championship? Interesting.

    I agree with Don Doster. Making the Big Dance would have been a positive, but I suspect
    we may have won one, possibly two. This has put us on national TV and has to help with
    recruiting where, if we can land one or two top recruits could make the next couple years
    very interesting. Understated fact, awesome coaching! Can't wait till next season!

    The confidence that this NIT run is doing for these players and program will pay dividends down the road. I don't think making the NCAA tournament this year would have instilled that type of confidence
