In MY personal opinion, Niall has the best single out of them all including over ex 1D member Zayn. Niall IS my favorite and Zayn is my LEAST favorite out of them all. They all are nice though.

I forgot to say why I think they all deserve the BEST. Harrys song. It is soft and beautiful. It lets us have a worm feeling when ever we hear. Nialls song. it has a nice grove and is very smooth. Liams song. its funky and just makes you want to move. Louis song. it is kind of like Liams song, but has a great mix with Bebe. Zaynes songs. Zayne went on his path way before the other 4 did and is still making great songs.

I think that all there songs where good. they created something they think represents them. yes they may be different, and they may be not together, but it is what they wont. they all have the right to be happy, no matter how they do it or what way they do it. I am not going to vote, because if i did, i would have to do it 5 times. but if there was a vote on if they should make another album, put my vote in. i loved when they where One Direction and not Five Direction. but if they want to make different music and go on there own paths, I will still love the music. its what they want. we shouldn't make one be the best. they got there careers together as one, but are making a change. I love them all. So, I vote for them all

Overall I like Zayn the best as well. Not to hurt any 1D fans feelings as I'm sure they will all do just fine, but so far Zayn IMO has provided the best music as a solo artist . I really like Mind of Mine as well as his new song too. He's fun, and soulful and moody and just plain cool. STG is my summer jam!

Who flopped even with promo? Even with six writers who helped write sign of the times? Even after ripping off snow patrol? Even after FBE, Saturday night live, UK media and one direction fan base Praised him extensively but he still failed at reaching high streams for his song? Harry.

For example look at The Weeknd all his songs are about sex and drugs nobody says anything they are still really good songs. Pillow Talk. Zayn has a killer voice along with star quality. He was wise to leave One Direction to pursue more complex music and creative projects that will appeal to a broader base of music fans vs. boy-band fans who are more focused on their latest crush (but alas they will grow up - someday).

In terms of music and artistry, definitely Zayn. Hope to keep hearing great songs from him for year to come. Pillow Talk was a great start!

I also like that he is trying (and succeeding!) in other things. He's young and exploring his options as an artist. Seems like a motivated guy with a lot to bring to the table in terms of creativity.

I tried to like Harry's song, I really did. But it is meaningless, over-contrived, doesn't sound anything like the artists it claims to and is just not something I or anyone I know would care to listen to. Cannot give my vote to him.

IMHO - after listening to them all, would have to vote for Zayn. He has the strongest voice and ability to carry a song. His first single was very good.

Rather bothered by any media hype saying Harry is comparable to Bowie and the likes. Let's let him cut his teethe first on getting out a good song before we compare him to the rock gods/legends. Not even close.
Not trying to cut him down, just trying to be realistic here. Likable, sure, decent voice sure....good song with rock star quality, absolutely not.

I don't care about one direction. Their formula of having five boys portraying 5 different personalities to fulfill different girls with different types of boys is nothing new. You want honesty? Here we go. Let's start with the FACE of one direction. Harry. Personally i like his voice but it's definitely not the strongest. BSB NSYNC ONE DIRECTION. One thing they have in common? Their front man was never the best singer. Nick Carter was 3rd compared to Brian and AJ, Justin's voice is nothing compared to JC Chasez. The wavy haired playful boy with the smile that melted hearts. The one that would never break your heart. Yup it did its part. Harry is the combination of all five boys therefore the complete package. The one who can do no wrong.Sadly his song didn't live up to the hype. I don't know who his PR team is but seriously comparing his debut song to the likes of the greats is such a bad move. I gave it a chance because i want to make an honest opinion. It was disappointing.
Niall and Louis are both just cashing in on being lucky enough to get through auditions and being part of 1D. Up to this day I seriously don't know how these two got in. If they were auditioning for the Voice i bet you a million bucks they will not get through. They haven't their fans to back them up with whatever they do.
Then there's Zayn the so called bad boy. The media just like to tear him down with fake rumors after rumors and add the bitter ex gf who seem to change her statement everytime she cries foul. Yes. I can see through her lies. If your own mother can actually say your ex bf treated you well and didn't cheat on you i think id believe the mother. But enough of the fake rumors. PillowTalk. His debut single and MOM. I didn't expect it to be that good. I remember hearing it through a pal who's a massive fan and i was surprised how much i loved his song and album. He has the best voice among the five and THAT is the truth. Who cares if he left? Who cares if he didn't want to be in 1D? Fact is he didn't lie. He never said he was mistreated. He never dissed the others. Sad for him and for the other guys their fans are children or young adults who grew older in age but not in maturity. Much like the image they have of the guys. Forever the teenage boys. The fans are entitled. Delusional thinking they matter and their opinions matter. Wake up people.
Zayn has my vote. This is a music business after all. I think one thing that's going for Harry is the fact that the marketing worked for him in 1D and he has tons of showbiz friends to hype up whatever you do.

I was blown away by Zayn's first single as well as his complete album, definitely gets my vote. Never really followed One Direction, although they seemed adorable enough, but was amazed when I heard that someone would actually take a risk to follow their dream rather than play it safe and stay where the money is.

1D was fun, but completely contrived. Everything was formulated to make young girls fall for these boys and it worked. It's been done a hundred times.

As each one grows of course they should want to explore what else they can do. And hopefully pick up real fans of their music along the way.

I met one direction, when i was an intern at a radio station in Toronto. Everyone knows who one direction was, its kind of hard to miss 5 good looking boys. Although I met them at an age where they dressed a bit embarassing, but I guess they still had the girls.

I think from a professional point of view, zayn is the full package. Yes he does not dance, but a lot of artist do not dance. Adele, Ed, Sam Smith are just examples of male artist that perform in front of thousands of people without dancing. I never liked one direction, but zayn malik is a star. Have some of you actually seen some of his solo work? He has done so much different things with artisit that I may have not recognized until him. Louis was smart by working with a different artist, but Harry and Nial look like they are going to work with the same people. It is good to have a good foundation but you do not need to carry on with the same people forever, change is good. Harry's song was okay? Honestly louis and nial put out a better single. Pillowtalk is like the beyonce /Justin Timberlake/ Michael Jackson of all the One directions solo work combined.That is how iconic it is. I actually cannot wait to see the things liam puts out because he has the second best voice after zayn, Harry being the golden boy is doing bussiness because of his "face of one direction" title. It is unfair to the rest of the four boys, who should have done much better than him, and I hope Liam can do much better.

I hated Zayn in 2014-2015 era, because I thought he was playing the victim card and dropping the boys. Of course it is only when he started doing interviews and put out music along with his books you could tell he was not lying. Sony is going to bank so much by putting Harry against Zayn, but Zayn is still very underrated. If Zayn was a cocky singer, a lot of the people he worked with would either not work with him or atleast shade him in some way. So far the only ones to shade him has been the One direction boys.

I wish them all the best, but my vote goes to zayn. Someone I discovered after he left one direction. I do not think he is ungrateful,but leaving was a good decision for him as an artist.
I don't want to put my name for privacy issues but i would like to let the one directions fans not to believe everything you first read about a person leaving a boyband. There is always a bigger story, Simon made this look like zayns fault and made him the bad guy, I will always disagree. Their team over worked them and do not be surprised if they part ways.

Louis- Just Hold On> Zayn- Pillowtalk> Niall> Harry. I used to love him even though I didn't like One Direction but I must say he greatly embarrassed me. When my family and my friends heard this song they asked me and I had to pretend I had lied about loving Harry. The love is gone now, he's copied his band mates fashion, quotes, then he copied Willy Wonka, then he really tried to do an Adele like ad, how could he dare? Not to mention it didn't have his name does he think he is Beyoncé or something? Because that sentence was painful to write. Not to mention I had to unfollow all the fan accounts for him I used to follow. How could he say his own album is his favorite? Not to mention he only mentioned One Direction after some backlash but had no problem saying his apparently all male and huge songwriting team are great guys he wanted to be around all the time and has a great time with them after saying he needed a break from his old band. Why did it take 5 other guys to write this repetitive song and who gave him the right to make a song that long? I always said wow he looks like he's de@d when he doesn't deny them and takes pictures with fans but I made excuses for that disgusting behavior. Not anymore though, can't believe I ever liked a man as c0cky and pretentious as him who only smiled a little bit with 2 out of the 9 fans he met in the past three years. I'm starting to open my eyes and he really is the male Taylor Swift but as hard to admit even worse since he already thinks he's all that and better than everyone else without even proving himself. I hope the Az0ffs can't pay for my honest comment to be removed as it's widely known in the entertainment news circle that they had to pay off quite a few critics with billboard promotion being the first one I mean about 25 articles in 3 days? So excessive, my favorite was R.S. magazine who were paid to delete their opinion as their "critic" only mentioned technical facts about how the song was made/ how long it was. Disappointed with Harry doesn't even begin to cover it, if he one day decides to be humble again maybe I'll think about liking him again but for now don't count on me.

Bringing his relationship and personal choices into this as of those decide his vocal talents. It's clear how much childish, immature and petty some of you are. If you have nothing good to say about his music then praise ur fav without bringing these vile lies in this. Grow up and let go of the hate towards someone who did ABSOLUTELY nothing to hurt you. Laughing at all these immature harry fans who is saying Zayn has a horrible personality because he left the band and gave an honest story about his experience in one direction like really? If you thought telling your story is bad then please grow the fuck up. He never bad mouthed the other men( take note MEN) they're capable of making life decisions without you kiddos who think your two cents worth are important. Take note of this kids... With that said my vote goes to the best singer of that band and that is Zayn. Harry's song was horrible and to think he's being compared to the great singer Bowie is an insult to Bowie.
So if you have nothing to say about other singers besides your so called knowledge on how bad a person he is or how he burned whatever bridges maybe you can actually listen to the music.

It's clear what Zayn needs to do. He needs a lavender marriage to Gigi asap. Louis and Liam's ivf/ turkey baster babies are taking all the shine off his pr relationship with Gigi. It's all about creating an Instagram narrative not about reality. Or it's that if an artist can't stand on their talent. Which Zayn can't.

Just because zayn left the band does'nt mean u can judge him,just because harry the famous member than the other does'nt mean u can see the other bad/not having talented. They do what they want and what they can,directioners always support them together as brother and family.

Kind of sad to see some commenters go after one artist to make their artist appear better, why not just go based on talent. After all - that is the question of this poll isn't is (best single?) You don't really know these guys?! I also don't get this 1D fandom thing. Cute when they were young boys, but they are now all 20 something grown men...I mean it's just getting awkward.

I'd probably say the best single belongs to Zayn. Not really surprised as he always had the most amazing voice.

Zayn by far and away is the best talent of the group and had the best single. Never really followed 1D but went back and listened after he released his music and you can tell early on that he was the strongest vocalist. Also seems like a pretty decent guy who's willing to put himself out there.

The one or two Zayn fans left have found this comment box. Zayn had good momentum out of the gate. The poc members of the fandom where all behind him. True most of them where Ziam shippers but they were supporting his decision within the fandom. It's just his horrible personality took over. He burned all his fandom bridges and they dropped him. Is Ed Sheeran dominating the charts because he looks like a model or he's dating a supermodel? Nope (sorry Ed) Ed dominates the charts because he writes great songs that reach peoples minds and hearts. I don't even know who he's dating and I don't care. Same with Adele. She has a child (I've never seen a picture of him) she got married in secret. For whatever strange reason Zayn is trying to be Chris Brown. Why? Chris Brown is on an elevator downwards career wise. Who wants to be known as a misogynistic asswipe unless you are. Chris Brown's core fans are girls who hate themselves and have daddy issues. I guess Zayn wants to be the next Chris Brown, but without the ability to put on a good live show, Browns a jerk but at least he can sing and dance live.

I'm very happy that people are giving honest opinion unlike some of 1D fans who hare zayn and will do their best to drag him down . For me #Zayn all the way he's the only one who surpised me with his single "pillow talk" among the 3 others he Really SMASHED IT, and not only pillow talk also his ALMBUM " MIKD OF MIND " was SUPER DOPE and IT'S SOOO UNIQUE .
I will always love and support him.
