Need a solid CB, either trade this for Malcom Butler or take the top ranked CB available,, which is Tre'Davious White. King and safety Melifonwu may have higher ceilings because they have a height and weight advantage, but White is a solid pick with a higher floor than those two.

To clarify. 1st round talent CB: Lattimore, Humphrey, Jackson, King, White...1st round Talent DE/OLB: Garret, Charlton, Thomas, Barnett, Mckinley, Harris, stretching to OLB's gives you choices of: Reddick, Davis. And thats with Early second round prospects potentially still there at 32 of Jordan Willis, Demarcus Walker, Tim Williams/Ryan Anderson, and that guy whos name I can spell that I call K-pass. Early Corners 2nd round corners with potential at the 32??? The two guys from Florida, The two guys from Colorado, And Fabian something or other from UCLA. I just see this draft taking the top tier CBs early and the quality of the 2nd round/late first round prospects in the pass rushing categories to be much stronger than CB. End Rant.

Who dat say dey gon' beat dem Saints? Pretty much anybody, Here is how I see their first round playing out (assuming they havn't traded for richard sherman/malcom butler). The Saints "guy" at CB is available for them at 11, so they get to take BPA for DE/OLB with this pick. I see a bigger drop off in the top teir CBs than the Top Tier DE's. So they get to take Charles Harris here and my guess would be that either Humphrey or Lattimore slides to them at 11. All that aside, they should go with Adoree Jackson here, as they could use both help at CB and a playmaking weapon at KR/PR since they havn't had one since....ew Reggie Bush? Ill look into that.

The Saints need someone that can cover the likes of Mike Evans and Kelvin Benjamin throughout the regular season. Kevin King gets his name called at the end of the first round.

So, to the surprise of (hopefully) absolutely nobody, the Saints will double down on defense in this first round. In case you have come from another planet, well, first, hello, extraterrestrials, I'm glad that you've taken your first steps to rule the Earth. Secondly, if you are having trouble comprehending why a team would need to double down on defense in the first round, here is the defensive rankings of the Saints in terms of Points per game, total yards per game, rushing yards per game, and passing yards per game for the past 5 seasons (source: http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/position/defense)

    PPG: 2016-31st; 2015-32nd; 2014-28th; 2013-4th; 2012-31st
    TYPG: 2016-27th; 2015-31st; 2014-31st; 2013-4th; 2012-32nd
    RYPG: 2016-14th; 2015-31st; 2014-29th; 2013-19th; 2012-32nd
    PYPG: 2016-32nd; 2015-31st; 2014-25th; 2013-2nd; 2012-31st

As you can see, defense is not their, say, strong suit. Now, being serious for a minute, as for why they should select Melifonwu specifically. This guy is an athletic freak who could very well provide an upgrade at either safety or corner, depending on where they need him. In a division full of good to great quarterbacks, defensive backfield depth is paramount.

I think the Saints are expecting to go get an edge rusher at #11 and pick up some secondary help at #32, although obviously if players they like were to fall, that could change. Obi Melifonwu is a freak physically, but I'd expect the Saints want as safe a pick as possible for the CB position, as they need a win now mentality to make the most of Drew Brees' final years. I go Chidobe Awuzie, although LSU's Tre White would also be very much considered.

The Saints burned a second-rounder on Stanley Jean-Baptiste because he was a big press-man corner. I could see Kevin King, who's the same kind of player but actually good, being taken here. Melifonwu could also be an option, and might also be seen as a press-man corner by the Saints. Of course, there's a big chance this pick is returned to sender in a Malcolm Butler trade, or snatched by a team wanting a QB with the option year a lá Teddy in 2014. But I'm thinking DB in a no-trade scenario.
