I'm not overly concerned what is in the bill at this time because I know it hasn't officially passed yet. I do know the Oregon has a very large deficit (1.8 billion) in the upcoming budget and the majority of it (1.3 billion) is due to FREE health care for anyone that wants to come here, illegal or not.
I thank God I am covered under a union contract for my health care.
They need to get control of the illegals and fraudulent abuse of the system.

Why can't we just get the same coverage congress has or better yet why can't it all just go back the way it was before odumbass care we were better off any time gov. Gets involved in something it turns to shit

I know some of what's in it read something that said who the winners and losers are and I'm one of them and I don't like the insurance companies charging 30% for letting coverage laps

I am 71 years old and have Medicare and a supplemental plan. Very concerned how the new health plan will affect the elderly.

I have tried to understand it, but find I can't. It should read simple and for the people to understand. I do have heard..yes pre-existing health issues will be covered.. Is this true. Also those 50 to 64 will have an extra tax tacked on to them. The reason for this I don't know. A punishment for getting older or for not dying yet?? Health insurance I do know needs to be affordable for those who are older and on a fixed income. Many I know are just that. If Congress omits themselves then it tells me something is not good enough for them, and I heard they have done this.
It would be nice if you DML, could have a segment where you went over this and explained it to us.

I know the gist of it per reading myself...it basically gives back to the states to create & insure lower premiums...but no guarantee that state's reps wont pad their lavish lifestyles, cover budget shortfalls, or give one dime to consumers to insure lower premiums. Insurance companies can increase their rates & premiums & deductibles as much as they like so they can keep claim payouts down, supersized bonuses to executives, & past more of the costs to consumers based on age & health. People take note start owning your own healthcare...I found my Plan B at www.mybenefits4less.com, I've been using it to offset mine & my families out of pocket costs for the last 4 years...I don't put stock in the govt providing for my needs.

I only know there adding an age tax for people 50 to 64 and that's going to hurt us older people. That's so wrong!!!

As with the ACA bill by the Democrats, the Republicans did a terrible job of putting the bill out for people to know what was in it. What I did see was a bunch of legal jargon that only lawyers can understand. Terrible job Republicans. We didn't need another Pelosi document that you have to pass before we can see what's in it! People are scared and you aren't helping!! Get your heads out of your behinds and give us the black and white details. And NOT through media spin. If you don't have a black/white copy, then you damn sure better get one and yesterday!

As long as they take the federal government out of Healthcare and give it back to the states where it belongs that will be a great start.

No not really. I had heard what was supposedly in it before the last minute changes whatever they were. But from the start it was vague and left more questions than answers. As in the 3 different percentage types 10,15 and 25 %
They never said what incomes fall into each bracket. Starting to look like a snow job . Guess it's back to you have to have them sign it to find out what's in it !

I fear this was pushed through just to feed President Trumos ego. Too many unanswered questions, per-existing illiberal, services that will not be covered. Too many issues not resolved.

I don't know what is in the bill and I am fairly certain the idiots who created it don't know either. They would create something with good coverage if they had to use it. I am 77 years old and my heart breaks for what this country has become.

I know a bit, but there are always differential statements. Don't know what to believe. So, I will ask you DML to get to The Truth. Pre existing conditions, covered or not? Congress exempt from bill, or not? Did Ryan strip VA benefits on the backend? I look forward to learning what is actually correct. Thank you for all you do!!

I hope they don't "have to pass it so so one can read it to see what's in it"???? Afraid it's just a sugar coating on Nobama care again! Where is the promise to repeal and replace we were given?!?!

  • Eleanore Matechick - 7 years ago

There are a few details that are supposedly in it that have been posted but from what I gather, depending on what segment of the population an individual is in, has different impacts. The concept of covering all satisfactorily: poor, pre-conditioned and aged through profit oriented private insurance while maintaining affordable premiums is daunting.

I would like to know why increasing visas for foreigners to take American jobs was included in healthcare. Was it Soros or the Chamber of Commerce that paid Ryan and his merry band of RINOS for this?

  • Wayne Newberry - 7 years ago

I would have liked to see Obamacare repealed,no replacement. We will never streamline nor simplify healthcare with government involvement,it is just another way for our government to intrude in ,and cont
    rol our lives.

I would have liked a third choice in this poll that states I know some of it but would like to know more. I agree with Jim Cooks assessment.

  • Jennifer Flowers - 7 years ago

Rush Limbaugh brokw it down pretty good in his show on 5/4 if anyone wants to know the details.

  • Lucia Vickers - 7 years ago

I only know what's out about the new health care bill listening to Dagen McDowell on Fox Business News, Maria Bartiromo's show. She had a white paper last night listing all the changes and updates to the bill as it stands now. They did also say that the information about the bill, as of then, was not available on the White House web site or anywhere on the net. She gave a shoutout to the GOP to get on it.

I don't know what's in it for sure, but I have a better idea than when the village idiot told Congress 7 years ago that " you would have to vote for it for read it. Plus I feel sure that the Senate will make changes to it. I think we will have a much better idea before it becomes law...
