My mom is working today, Mother's Day. So I'm picking her up on Tuesday and taking her to dinner. And I hand painted her a sign for her garden "Don't get your pansies in a bunch."

  • Sue Dent - 7 years ago

We are moving our son back from college today for the final time! He graduated from S.I.U yesterday. I now have two kids who have both graduated from college and they both have jobs! Best Mother's Day yet!

  • Katie Haberkorn - 7 years ago

We will be taking mom out for lunch, then revealing our gifts to her.

  • Julie Soria - 7 years ago

My kids are now teenagers and an adult. When they still make a card or dinner it means more than a store bought gift.

  • Meghan N - 7 years ago

Wish you could pick more than one!

  • Delila M. - 7 years ago

We go to an annual Art & Book Fair after a nice lunch out.

  • Colleen Swesey - 7 years ago

I love reading all the stories of your crews moms. It makes me remember to talk about my Mom when the kids come over. My kids know her but the grandkids don't and I want them to know that she is important inout family history and is the only reason their mom can make the best pie pastry crust. I can't do it so my Mom gave my daughter a lesson one year when we visited and she has the gift. Whenever I want to make a quiche or a pie I ask my daughter to come make the crust. That way my mom is still with us and a part of our lives.

  • Kristin McKinney - 7 years ago

I just want some time to relax and someone else doing the cooking. :) A nice note doesn't hurt, either.

  • Sally Thornton - 7 years ago

Several years ago, I made a 'Family Tree' quilt for my Mom and Dad. I used handprints from them for the roots, and the handprints from all four of us children, and all the grandchildren to make the branches on the tree. It was a fun project, and they loved it.

  • BethAnn Lawrence - 7 years ago

We created cards by using the kid's footprints and handprints to make a tree and included the message "Grandmama, I'm so glad we are part of the same family tree."

  • Dianne E - 7 years ago

My mom has been gone for many years. My daughter is taking me to a Wild Mustang Sanctuary for the day!

I can't resist sharing what I did for my Mom today in honor of Mother's day. I took my 77 years young Mother shopping for undergarments for her wedding dress. She is getting married on June 24th!

  • Lynne Verros - 7 years ago

With love in my heart for my mom- I'm going to a cemetery and put flowers on a grave of someone else's mom that needs to be remembered. I know my mom will like that, she loved flowers till the day she died.

Trying not to tear up at Mothers day ads. My mom's been gone 2 years now. Memories of her in my mind make me happy though especially of years she was well and we could have fun together. Thankful to be a mom and grandma myself. Working to make good memories for my family and friends.

  • Linda - 7 years ago

My Mama just passed away in March...it's going to be tough without her...I miss her!!

  • Jenny B. - 7 years ago

I thank God for my Momma! I'm grateful for every moment we have together. I see how hard it's been for mom not to have her mom any more. Momma lost her mom 30 years ago and still she has split seconds when she wants to share things with her. This year is gonna be hard for Momma. Our family has always been very close but this year all the grandchildren (Adults) have fallen away from God and family. It breaks our hearts but we will keep praying and trust in God. Momma is 69 years old now and has been a mother for 45 years. She is a proud Momma of three I'm the oldest then sissy and my brother. Momma is grateful my daughter and I are severing the Lord and will be with her. As for me I couldn't ask for more, God, Momma and my sweet girl for Mother's Day, brother might stop by also ???? !!!! God bless all you beautiful Momma's out there. Please keep our family in you prayers. All my love, Jenny B.❤️????????????????????

    Happy Mother's Day

  • Avonlie - 7 years ago

My mom only lives not even a couple hours away, but I still only see her a time or two a year, usually Mother's Day or Christmas. Going to try to get my kids together (20 & 22) and go out to see her for a bit to let her know she's loved. Probably bring her a flowering plant for her front porch.

  • Diana Caldwell - 7 years ago

I have so many great memories of my Mom cooking, taking us to church and just helping 10 kids in every way she could. She passed away in 2007 and I still pick up the phone to call her about something that's happening in my life.

  • Vera Collier - 7 years ago

My husband and I live several states away from both our moms. I always send a handmade card and this year had an order of Cheryl's cookies sent to both of them.

  • rissatoo - 7 years ago

Mom lives in another state, so Sunday will be a nice long, chatty phone call. It was great to be able to visit her last month - I love that I was able to share some time with her, and splurge on some things she wanted, but wasn't going to buy - because they weren't "necessary". I told her it WAS necessary she have these things that brightened her day. :) Love my mom!

  • Kati Davis - 7 years ago

Wish I were closer to my mom but a card and a call will have to do this year.

  • Debbie Tucker - 7 years ago

I am so lucky to still have my Mom! I bought her a fern for her front porch, making her a chocolate peanut butter cake and got a bottle of pink bubbly moscato champain to drink with her. I love her with all my heart!!!

  • Sharon - 7 years ago

A dear friend who is now 101 years old was like a mother to me all during college, the birth of our son, and early marriage years. I sent her a card which is not enough for all she means to me. My mother passed away in 2009;, and I miss her very much and often think of calling or writing her.

  • Patti C. - 7 years ago

I was raised by my grandmother from the time I was 6 months old to adulthood. I miss her dearly and have fond memories of cooking with her as a child. She was famous for her Macaroni and Cheese. Through the years I tried to copy it, with no luck. Until, I found a yellow and white pyrex bowl at an antique shop, just like the one she ALWAYS used. Now when I make it, it tastes just like hers!!

  • Julia - 7 years ago

Wish I could spend the day with my mother and grandmother; sending gifts will have to suffice this year.

  • Cindee Bailey - 7 years ago

My mom is so amazing. In the last year or so, she has proven her love & dedication for her family and portrayed such a God given strength as she has added to her list of roles and became the caregiver for my daddy, who is suffering from dementia and Parkinson disease. Even though she is dealing with the exhaustion and emotional issues that comes with being a caregiver to her spouse, she still has her arms and door wide open for her family. Always ready with a smile, a listening ear, always wanting to help in anyway she can, even though her "plate" is toppling over! I admire my mom so much and hope this Mother's Day I am able to show her how much she means to me. Last weekend I took her to lunch and a show. This weekend she will be spoil with her children preparing a meal for her and my dad, as well as some shopping to get herself something special, that makes her happy and feel amazing :)

  • Ann Tatum - 7 years ago

My Mother died in 1991 and I still miss her every day. I'm always thinking of something I want to ask her. She was a fabulous, cook everything from scratch cook. A wonderful, loving, nurturing mother and grandmother. Rest in peace beautiful lady.

  • Delia Rosales - 7 years ago

My mom's been gone for 8 years now, and my sister 10 months. I miss them and I think of them daily. I have wonderful memories of them both, especially of my mother's cooking. Her green pozole...mmm, mmm, good! Happy Mother's Day everyone! ????

  • Tana - 7 years ago

    Pasta for Mama!

  • JoNell H. - 7 years ago

My Mom is 89 years old, lives with me and is in the final stages of Alzheimer's. Conversation's, true conversation's, with her have long passed and her mom's day celebration will come and go without her remembering any of it. But she will be celebrated and in attendance will be her children and a few of her grandchildren.....and we wouldn't have it any other way.

  • cindy severs - 7 years ago

Wishing MOM was still with me.

  • donna c - 7 years ago

We're ordering Chinese take out and my sons and I will join my mom for dinner.

  • Loann - 7 years ago

My mom and I live 5 states apart so we're unable to physically be with each other on Mother's Day. I hope to send a gift, even though she is very much an acts of service personality, as am I. I wish I could be there to help clean the log cabins they rent on the farm, to help her mow, or just to be with her. But I'm so thankful for technology that will allow us to not just talk on the phone, but video chat.
She is a strong woman, but that strength comes from her solid faith in Jesus Christ and the beauty of salvation and abundant grace and mercy.
    I love you, mom!

  • Sue Miller - 7 years ago

My mother has been gone for over 28 years & still I think of her daily. Especially when I cook since she taught me when I was very small that food was important. We were farmers & had access to great food even post depression and during WWII. I remember the shortages & rationing during the war but my mother was able to prepare wonderful meals even without some ingredients like enough sugar. We didn't have electricity and baking on a wood stove must have taken a special talent. She made the best pies, cakes & cookies you could imagine. I still miss her & know that she & my dad are together in heaven.

  • florine Kreeb - 7 years ago

Every time I cook or bake a dish that my mom made I think of her. Mom made a lot of Czech or Hungarian dishes that her mother made and I am so grateful for the rich variety of dishes she taught me.

  • Linda Poindexter - 7 years ago

Still all these years later want to pick up the phone and share the day.

  • Debbie Leavelle - 7 years ago
