My husband made us deluxe breakfast of omelette, sausage and blueberry banana pancakes with coffee! And I have the rest of the day off to relax and do whatever I want. Simply lovely and thoughtful! So thankful!

I had a truly wonderful mother who is now in heaven. She was selfless and always focused on the needs of her children and her husband. She was wise,giving and always kind....A tremendous roll model for what a woman, a wife and mother could be. She was very well read and instilled a love of books in all of us. I don't believe she had a prejudiced thought in her mind and taught us the worth and equality of all people. I cherish that gift from her and my father

A few years ago my husband gave me a journal and every year the kids write a note or draw/scribble a picture for me (they are only 7,5,3 years old). They do this instead of getting me a card. It is my favorite thing every year. It is something I will cherish forever.

I love flowers and I can either put them on my table or plant them in the yard.
But this year my baby girl and grand daughter was found on my couch last Saturday morning from Ohio, to be here for our Mother's Day brunch that we have give out mothers for the past 6 years. I was so excited to see them. It was wonderful! Now this Sunday I will go spend the day with my mom!

I love gifts :) but my most favorite gift to receive is.....a relaxing day with my family. Just chillin and having a fun time being together. I love to be outside, so a trip to the farmer's market or strolling through a nearby city with antique shops, hanging out at Disney or simply taking a walk and exploring, then having a picnic. It's the simple things that makes great memories!!

I absolutely love when we are all able to gather together for Mother's Day (or any day for that matter). My youngest works hospitality so she is never home on holidays, my son lives 18 hours away with 3 of my grandchildren so we rarely see them and that leave one daughter and her family to celebrate with me. I enjoy it but I miss the rest of my family. Happy Mother's Day to all us Moms out there. I hope your day is wonderful!

In a time when sooooo much is done via texts & emails, it's the personal touch that a card represents:
1. Taking the time to choose a card.
2. Writing a thoughtful personal message.
3. Putting a stamp on it & mailing it.
The 'personal touch of a card is a wonderful gesture.

My love language is acts of service, so I never want gifts for Mother's Day, though the family usually goes that route. And I do appreciate their doing so. But if you want to make my heart sing and feel truly loved, clean the house, do the dishes, mow the yard, mop the floor, etc. Having home be homey is my favorite and making it so shows love to me.

As I live over 1000 miles from my children I always look forward for their telephone calls; but the calls from them on Mother's Day is always extra special. I was a single mom from the time the youngest was 1 1/2 and one year she sent me a Father's Day card. I do believe that was the most special card I ever receive
