I say keep trotz. But the problem is hes not a winning coach. Hes never won a cup. He doesnt know how to get it done. Hes a great regular season and good at motivating and mentoring. But he doesnt adjust well midgame. Thru 6 games vs Toronto orpik and shattenkirk were minus 5 each. He kept them as a pair until game 4vs Pittsburgh and it was too late at that point. They were the reason caps lost the first 2.

Keep Trotz. He's a very good coach and when he mixed it up this post-season, his moves worked, even though the end result was the same. This team is going to be going though a lot of change over the next 2 seasons and new, young players will learn from him. He will be a great mentor for them as well.

The onus this year should be on the team not the coaches. The team simply did not come to play in the first 3 or 4 games and got themselves into the hole they could not dig out of. It is time for change but not behind the bench, let Ovi go and build around Backy, Oshie, Kuzy and Bura. Ovi has not shown he can get the job done trade him or let him go back to Dynamo Moscow and be assured of playing at the Olympics/.
