Should rural youth sports teams face relaxed eligibility rules?

I am a parent of one of the players on the team, the player being one of the grade 7 girls. Yes, there are rules and I agree with the rules being followed as to not stack the team. But in this case these 2 girls were brought from a school in our community that only goes to grade 7. The next step for them was exactly who they were playing for, Grand Forks Secondary School. There is no other school for them. That is their school. Rural schools don't have 80 kids to pick from, they usually struggle just to get a team together and for these girls to have an opportunity to go to Provincials doesn't come around very often. Rules should be followed, but each case should be treated individually, not straight across the board. BC School Sports focuses mainly on the larger centers and forgets about us out here. We have great athletes and dropping the sledgehammer down on them, won't stop them, it will just make them fight harder the next time. They earned their spot at Provincials and it is very unfortunate that there was so little time to fight for their rights to play a sport that they truly love.
