Do none of you realize the devastating effect this bill would have on the schools? It will not help schools in less fortunate areas, and it will hurt schools that are doing well. Look at what happened in California. Proposition 13 ruined the schools until they all figured out how to gain funding themselves within their districts. No Child Left Behind finished them off. This bill helps nobody, and crushes the schools educating the future of our state and our country.

Why do our representatives in Harrisburg continue to burden us seniors with a tax that is strangling us. Look at our state- one of the worst states to retire in . Do these people we put in office really represent us. i don't think so.

I am NOT in favor of sending another penny to HARRISBURG until Philadelphia is no longer a SANCTUARY CITY. They recieve $550+ MILLION DOLLARS from the Feds to fund this BS. STATE FUNDING should be suspended until Phila. it is no longer a sanctuary city

School taxes should be eliminated. Parents should be able to raise their children, and not have to keep moving them around-and working sometimes 2 jobs. Because taxes continue, so do foreclosures. Hard working people,elderly,handicapped-are just not able to pay. Rent goes up-where do these people go?

I would definitely be willing to pay more in sales tax or income tax. I few pennies more won't be noticed as much as the $3,000 property tax bill due every year.

    HB/SB 76 should be updated.

Raise income taxes ONLY by 0.25%.

Raise sales tax to 7% to make up the difference.

Lastly, let's put an extraction tax on Marcellus here in PA. Every other state has done so including Texas and even WV. Failure to do so is corruption in state govt and the state legislature!

Amend the state Constitution to only allow for that money, all of the sales tax, the 0.25% in additional income tax, and Marcellus tax revenue for public schools. This excludes charter schools and religious schools.

If you do all of that, I will be onboard.

Also consider restructuring PA schools to "regional districts". In Most states, the entire county is the school district. In PA, we have numerous school districts in the same city.

Superintendents pay is one of the highest costs per school district. Let's combine several (approx 3) current school districts into a "regional school district" and have one superintendent over that region!

Eliminating the onerous school tax benefits homeowners, renters and the elderly on fixed income. Raising the sales tax forces everyone including those on welfare, illegals being paid under the table and criminals to at least pay something. Raising the income tax benefits retirees who pay no income tax but places undue burden on a shrinking work force.
