Would you rather have a new election or see John Horgan as premier?

I wonder how may people got hired to apply votes? Try it, you can vote as often as you have time to waste, these are not polls, they are entertainment. The results depend on how desperate some individuals are to prove Christy deserves a second chance after failing the first round.

And would it surprise you to learn the same paper also contributed to Christy's last election campaign, i guess desperate measures call for desperate mind manipulation.

It's just a six plus week delay to the next non confidence vote and the Speaker can't vote on a third read from I understand therefore budget won't pass and we go to the polls. I can handle six weeks of left wing govt.

Finally, the corrupt liberal Christy Clark government has toppled. This province has been sold to the highest bidder for the past 16 years. No affordable housing. Cuts to education, healthcare, Vancouver drug and homeless problem out of control, but the wealthy donors keep getting richer. I don't know if the corrupt ship can be turned around, but now is the time.

  • Robert Short - 7 years ago

BCis a great place to live, where you can get a good job, well paying, and raise your family in a secure environment and that should be enough for most honest people.I think CHRISTIE Clark did that for us all,she keep the economy growing in a positive way without too much pomp and ceremony. Now the NDP who have no plan but to shut down the major projects and stop all progress in the name of GOD KNOWS WHAT .Now let's take from the rich and give to the poor which doesn't accomplish anything.Let's give the poor a job so he/she can support themselves and their families and stop all the complaining. There are too many people out there who want something for nothing....Weaver does not get any points from me although I like the Greens,he is just a big BLOWHARD who thinks he knows everything. Thanks

Political parties do not "deserve a turn or a chance at governing" They need to win that right on an election. The NDP did mot win the election. Th Lt. Governor has do e a disservice to the people of BC to allow the NDP to gorm a government when they did not win the right ti in an election. To say nothing of the fact that tey cannot possibly form a stable Government.
I will be surprised if we are not back to the polls before the end of this year. I certainly hope so in any event.

  • Brian - 7 years ago

If the Horgan/Weaver bromance had ANY strategy at all, they would keep the Libs in power, and present members bills after members bills to get what they want with a majority vote, with the Libs taking the 'credit' for overturning 16 years of mismanagement.
Start with a private members bill to work all summer - no summer break for anybody, and continue in this fashion for at least 18 months.
The NDP and Green will get all of their wish lists covered, and with Ms. Clark as the outward face to the world as the "Leader of BC"; She would be humiliated in 10 weeks. Imagine after 18 months?
HUGE problem for the NDP if Judith Guichon (LG for BC) decides to have a snap election after a Vote of Non-Confidence with the Throne Speech, because the NDP are broke. They cannot afford another election right away, and The Libs have all the nice Corporate Cash Cows at her beck-and-call.

  • Trevor - 7 years ago

53% saying new election. I'd rather that than a government formed by 2 parties that will be at odds with each other too bad it wasn't a liberal majority. Then we could all be botching about how shitty double c is for the next few years

  • Doug nuyts - 7 years ago

Christy may be unpopular, but she won the election. If all the green voters had known Weaver would sell out so fast, some would surely have balked. Now that he has shown his true colours, let's see how many seats the greens get. They cant govern with a tied house anyway, so lets get on with it.

  • Lonny Jones - 7 years ago

Ok lets go with the NDP , no
Problem .. I believe that any one who voted for the Green Party and NDP should be responsible for paying all the EI benifits of the workers that are about to have their jobs exterminated out thier own personal earnings , not the tax payers

  • Tanya - 7 years ago

It is what it is! We already all voted. Yes it was close, but NDP had more. Get over it & let's get on with it! Some may not like it, but that's a chance that gets taken in an election! It's a waste of our tax money and resources to keep going round & round with it! Suck it up Liberals & give it up already. Get a new Leader & better luck next time!

  • Marion DeCaro - 7 years ago

all of you people who are bashing the Greens and Andrew Weaver, I think you have it wrong. They did not form a coalition with the NDP!! They only agreed to vote with them to defeat the Liberal in a non confidence vote, they can still decide on every other issue separately. What choice was there, to let the Liberals win or to join with them for a majority, that would have been horrible and I would be bashing them now if they had done that. The NDP and the Greens have quite a few things that they agree on and the Greens are free to vote in any issue independly.

  • Donna Hemingson - 7 years ago

Can't believe the poll is so close..does that mean that those that want a new election think that the greens and ndp will win with a resounding victory or alas does it mean some still believe in the false liberal rhetoric?

  • Arkady Golozhopov - 7 years ago

There was no option in the poll for those of us who live in the interior of BC to break away from the coastal moonbats. All of the morons in the current BC government support the globalist religion of "global warming" and are ice age deniers.

  • Dominic Froome - 7 years ago

A $44 million price tag, to hold another BC election, says that both sides of the political coin should be exhausted before calling a new election. The Liberals need a new leader and the longer it takes to declare one then the more expensive it's going to become to try and re elect the partys' biggest problem. The political power, of this province, is supposed to be represented by a predetermined political point of view. CC is unethical and demented for power.

  • Brian McGavin - 7 years ago

I am a monthly contributor to the Green Party of BC. I, of course, voted Green in an NDP stronghold. Would I have voted for the Liberals of BC? Not a chance! Why? Their lack of morals & ethics. What else ... oh yeah their corruption is incredible. I want the whole of the liberal party backroom boys & girls plus the repugnant Christy Clark & her MLA's to be brought up on corruption charges & sent to jail if they are found guilty. And all those corporate lobbyists & "donators" be given the same opportunity as the Liberals of BC to explain themselves. Now about those jobs the Liberals yammer about creating...most of them don't cover the cost of living.

The Greens have decided that they should have sort of power NOT ..their party is toast ,Weaver has proven he can be bought .such a traitor to the Green Party..Yes we need an election .no one in this province voted for the Greens and NDP to gang up and taken power .that happens in third world and communist countries ,not our beautiful province of B.C.

  • L. Kersey - 7 years ago

I'm ashamed to say I voted Green. I DIDNOTvote for the NDP!!! I will NEVER vote Green again. I had hoped for a party that would stand tall and vote on each issue NOT one who weaseled over to the NDP and became Horgan's puppet just to get a payoff so the NDP could form government.

  • Alan Tapper - 7 years ago

Voters all over the western world world are not too happy with their old established political parties and policies giving them the boot. B.C. is no different.

  • Steve - 7 years ago

Liberals won...if you voted for the Green Party you voted for Weaver not Hogan! Weaver is a disgrace to his party for abandoning them!

  • Laine Waddell - 7 years ago

Can't agree with you more Norm! and to David Findlay why does the voting system need to be changed now?? Only because it benefits one party there is a reason the first past the post system is in use Canada wide is to give an equal voice to all regions not just the consumer city of Vancouver where most of the resources mined and drilled in the rest of the province are used up I am not a liberal doner however the liberals have done an amazing job at giving me and my family the opportunity to feed myself by provinding endless opportunity for honest employment on the terms of her being corrupt I seem to recall seeing UNIFOR billboard calling for the take down of the liberals how much money was donated to the NDP from private firms? Look it up you won't find a big difference also the Green Party (erhem I mean the mini NDP) siding with the real NDP to topple a government and steal an election it's not hate it's just serious disgust over a dirty play. Good for Vancouver doesn't mean good for BC

  • Karen - 7 years ago

One thing first NDP did not win the election... 2 forming a coalition after an election doesn't constitute a win... Having our jobs lost because of this will not be good would all of the NDP and Green Party members pay me out for my loss of home and income when this happens I think not... I agree some things need to be changed but at what cost for one. For 2 Both NDP and Weaver blocked the bill to prevent donations and making the Green Party Official.., I am not excited about the possibilities of losing our good economy for this.... I live in north peace area where most of the job loses will occur as a result of this recklessness. Think of another thing if many tax payers lose everything as a result of job loses what will pay for all of these promises the NDP and Greens have made. Personally I don't care which party it was but when a party says they are going to cut these projects that is not good. I am a single parent and have worked my whole life for what I have. I am not a liberal whiner either ... but hey if you want to pay all my bills and my mortgage and take that on when my job is lost after NDP comes in I will shut up

  • Stephen S - 7 years ago

I voted green. If there was no Green Party there is NO WAY I would ever vote NDP!

  • Ry - 7 years ago

I think the have nots should get a job NDP will run BC into the ground. And have drastic negative affects on major industries. Do your selves a favor don't vote NDP. Do you like ICBC that was a NDP ploy among others but do as u wish cause you only think about your selves and not the province.

  • Robert - 7 years ago

I guess nobody remembers the 90's when the province tanked due to an NDP government. All NDP supporters better get use to increased taxes and losing their jobs.

  • Rob Unger - 7 years ago

The Liberal whiners sound like Donald Trump who won the electoral college but lost the popular vote. Those are the rules there. Here the green / ndp coalition won the most seats and the popular vote. They won the election morally and legally and deserve the opportunity to govern.

  • L H Turner - 7 years ago

Christie will say and do anything to stay in power. Time for a change. If another election is held and heaven forbid she got re-elected every promise will be broken except giving herself and band of thieves another huge pay increase while taking away from health care, education, low income families and seniors and on and on and on with cut backs.

  • Trish Fern - 7 years ago

What I would like to know is how many of the people who voted for the Green Party would have voted NDP if there was not a Green Party I know I would not have

  • Sue Donaldson - 7 years ago

Ridiculous to go to another election six weeks after most voters told the Clark government to get out -- let the citizens' wishes prevail for the NDP to lead a minority government & act on the promises to get rid of big money in elections and implement proportional representation.

  • Marinus Mellaart - 7 years ago

Considering the Postmedia bias for all things NDP lately, I guess others like my self have voted - and I am surprised at how close this poll is.

  • M.E. Paul - 7 years ago

I can't believe this is even in question: get out of office BCLibs & let the NDP govern with the support of the Greens, as the MAJORITY of the popular vote and seats established on May 9th.

  • Rick Hyne - 7 years ago

I would have voted for a new election, but will give the NDP a chance. I am of the opinion that we will be in a new election less than a year from now anyway. The Greens are the part of the mechanism that makes everything work, if that breaks, and it will, then the whole thing will collapse.

  • Harland Stovan - 7 years ago

We definitely need another election. The proposed union-controlled self-serving NDP-Green alliance has no understanding of how to create and maintain jobs, no understanding of how crucial Site C and Kinder Morgan are to BC, and most importantly, no idea how to run an economy.

  • Ken Marbach - 7 years ago

What we have is who we are meaning those who have stiffed us for 50 years are finally at a Mexican stand-off!! We will soon be like Venezuala when these banana boaters have picked our plantations clean!!
FACT: Very few want to "SHILL" again for fear of losing their very plush seats stuffed with ""IOUs" on one side and "PROMISSORY NOTES" on the other!! Either side it is to their benefit and we the people get played one more time enroute to the last time!! Shams have an expiry date but in politics they just restamp their products with one word "RECYCLE" because its a green economy : LOONIES IN CHARGE AND DEBTS ARE ARISING AT THE SAME RATE AS THEIR PERKS AND INSANE SALARIES!!
For all the Trump haters please be reminded that his salary IS ZERO!!
In case you don't know the earnings of these professional poluticians you should inquire because it's enough to make a maggot puke!!!

  • yuri - 7 years ago

please majority either way. this is not functional.

  • Suzanne - 7 years ago

Although I'd prefer an NDP gov't, with the numbers the way they are now, I can see anything getting done. I think there needs to be an election or we'll be stuck in neutral.

  • Mark - 7 years ago

We need a new election!! The NDP and greens seizing power like this makes us like a banana republic!!

  • Gilbert Sylvain - 7 years ago

Alex Puttonen, I believe Christy is salivating as am I, at the thought of another election and winning. Why would she even try for a confidence vote if she knew she would lose another election? FB polls already show Christy at 52% with NDP 48%. Haha how's that for proof?

  • Ruthy - 7 years ago

Stop trying to cover up your criminal records CC and GO ALREADY!!
BC Libs are crooks and gang related and its time to drain our BC swamp

  • Doug - 7 years ago

I'm of two minds on this. I'd like Horgan to be sworn in as soon as possible, but on the other hand, a new, costly, unnecessary election would almost surely result in a majority NDP government.

  • Trevor madden - 7 years ago

The liberals won the election how the ndp and Green Party can join forces then put them selves ahead of who the people actually voted for is the stupidest and most bs thing I have ever seen. THEY LOST.

  • Dorothy Trask - 7 years ago

We need a new election because we sure don't need the NDP

  • George De Witt - 7 years ago

Let's get on with government, cut out the nonsense that this so called liberals are doing & have John Hogan run this beautiful province.

  • Norm Froment - 7 years ago

It is time for the Interior of BC to join Alberta. Vancouver and it's Island can rename themselves La La Land and learn to exist without jobs and fossil fuel. To speed things along we'll shut their fossil fuel supply off at Kamloops the day that your phone government takes over.

  • Angela kong - 7 years ago

Please give NDP and green party a chance to rule the province. As a matter of fact, Christy clerk copy almost all the policy from NDP, it's prove NDP's policy is good and workable. Christy is too late to correct her mistakes, she should step down, because liberal needs a strong and wisdom and have decisions leader, not a copy cat.
Liberal party ignored people's need, they should look back and find their mistakes.

  • Laurier Bonsant - 7 years ago

How can British Colombians forget what happened last time? Look at Quebec, ONTARIO, Alberta everywhere they have been in power things got worse. Way worse. How can we fix anything if we are broke and can't find work which is what will happen. AGAIN

  • Kevin Middleton - 7 years ago

16 years ago the NDP left Campbell Libs with a record 1.5 billion dollar surplus, and these so-called keepers of the purse have left the tax payer with a 180 billion dollar deficit. So long Christy and your crooked bunch of hypocrites and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

  • David Findlay - 7 years ago

Joanne Please educate yourself on how our parliamentary system works. Further the BC Green party entered into an agreement with the BC NDP not for power - that's the BC Liberals - but to influence government policy.
Laine Waddell. Your hate just slithered into the comments. Since when did the BC Liberals care about anyone other than their donors. Proportional representation is far more democratic than our current first past the post system. Further if a majority of voters live in metro Vancouver then they are simply that THE MAJORITY.

  • Marie - 7 years ago

We just had an election!! It's been 6 weeks of getting the sore losers OUT! That's democracy, Say Goodbye and gracefully leave NOW! Plans have to be made around funding available, depending on which gov't is in!!

  • Will Hartman - 7 years ago

Cmon Christy! Just resign! You've had 16 years. Time for a change and some fresh approaches. BC kids don't need anymore of your starving the school system and having them die in care. And we need some affordability. Why are we still the only province paying MSP premiums? And NO to Site C and Kinder Morgan. I could go on.

  • Shawn - 7 years ago

We already had a poll like this. It was the election. The NDP-Green partnership won the most seats.

  • Alex Puttonen - 7 years ago

24 more hours of BC Liberal government. Then probably a ruthless internal cleanse and leadership contest that will take a year or so and drastically redefine the party. Goodbye Christy Clark.

  • Martin - 7 years ago

Time for a Serious Change in BC! 16 years of BC Liberal corruption and pandering to special interest groups at the expense of the rest of us has to stop! The BC Liberals sold us out! It's time for them to go!

  • Alex Puttonen - 7 years ago

I welcome the opportunity to see our parliamentary system at work and a chance for Premier Horgan. I believe the general concensus among British Columbiana is that a snap election would only further punish Christy so if the Liberal supporters really want one bring it on.

  • Theresa Fournier - 7 years ago

Christy Clark needs to step down. And John Horgan needs to step up.
The last thing we need is another election, can we just get on with running our province.

  • Joanne - 7 years ago

No one voted in an NDP-Green party coalition. The only party with the majority of seats was the Liberals, regardless if they weren't enough for a majority government. The result kept all 3 parties accountable. The Greens sold themselves for power, and in my opinion have lost all credibility. They would have served the people of British Columbia if they remainws true to themselves. A new election is definitely preferable and a higher voter turnout will tell the tale of what the people of British Columbia truly want.

  • Matthew Rust - 7 years ago

We need the BC Liberals out, so we can undo the damage they've caused, from gerrymandering to extreme corporatism!

  • Laine Waddell - 7 years ago

Yes let's let Horgan steal the government and slither his way into the premiers office, then change the voting regime to a system that he knows makes it easier for him to get elected and takes away any say from the rest of BC, then Vancouver can say they know how the rest of the province wants to be run. I mean everything happening right now is legal but after the NDP and Greens have been voting down the bills put forward by the Liberals that the NDP campaigned for it shows all they are really interested in is power and don't actually care about British Columbians

  • Colleen jeffs - 7 years ago

Quit wasting tax payer dollars and resign. B.C wants change.

  • April wheeler - 7 years ago

    John Horgan for Premier
    Get lost Christy
