I am hoping the writers want you to think Charles is what Liza thinks she wants but once she sleeps with him, she realizes she has always been looking for Josh. Why should age define love? It would be less predictable to see them end up and have her have a 2nd shot of being happy. A happiness she could never of imagined or read in all of her book clubs. She was cheated on and delt with being a mom at such a young ages, coupled with years of dealing with endless disappointments from her ex husband. Liza needed to let go of her own demons and learn to retrust herself, her feelings for Josh, and seeong what was real under it all. Such a better ending than an assistant ending up being promoted by her boss and then hooking up.. So cliche ...seems like a sexual harassment suit waiting to happen. Josh total supporter!!!

I applaud Darren Star and Younger writers for this new direction with Kelsey knowing Liza's true age and backstory, and the ingenious twists they have interwoven into the characters' relationship dynamics with each other. I am not thrilled about Kelsey's cold and heartless response to Liza pouring her heart out to her, but it is in character for her, considering she lacks the life experience to be able to relate to Liza's quandry. In the real work world, Liza would not be under any obligation to reveal her age because of age discrimination laws. However, now Kelsey has decided to corroborate in the only true lie which is exposing Liza publicly as a Millennial. As the head of the Millennial imprint, it is understandable she would be concerned about the credibility of her imprint with a 41 year old as her partner, but again this brings up the issue of age discrimination. It is in fact reverse discrimination. I take personal offense that anyone under 30 thinks anyone over 40 is not intelligent enough to market books to Millennials. The whole world does not revolve around 20 somethings! Kelsey feels betrayed? By what? She needs to grow up. She is creating her own backlash betrayal. Wow Kelsey, you are shrewd! And mean! Liza was never mean to anyone. I have to laugh though, because I acknowledge the relationship complications is what keeps me interested in watching. I don't always like what the characters do or say, but it is a reflection of how people can be. I am not surprised that Josh and Kelsey might hook up, because they have alot in common and it seems natural considering they share the same generational experiences. I am looking forward to Liza and Charles' relationship developing further, because I feel he is a better match for her.
