My husband and I are retired, but we are lucky as my husband was a triple dipper. 31 yrs. U S Military, 15 yrs fire service, and 10 yrs in medical field gave us good retirement and healthcare. We sacrificed a lot during the working years, but now have a fairly good retirement and pay a good share in taxes. We would like to see it for others and feel if Trump and Congress can do their jobs it would be good for everyone.

I've been sick for 20 years and finally was properly diagnosed and put on disability. It's not enough to pay the bills. I would be on the streets if I didn't have family that were able to help me. I believe a lot of the homeless you see on the streets are in the same predicament. Just without the family to help them keep a roof over their head. With Obama we we got very small yearly increases if any at all. While the cost of rent groceries and utilities went up, our income did not. On top of that I am now having trouble getting my pain medication which started under the Obama Administration. President Trump, please help the disabled in the seniors we are struggling.

Can't find a job. Had a heart attack. No insurance. Basically living on the street. All at the age of 58 feeling very much alone with no help. Widowed wants to work but no help to be found.

Unless you are the hollyweirds, a government official or in the the other elite groups in the United States, you are struggling. The elitist are so out of touch with what is really happening to Joe and Jane American, they cannot relate. Get rid of Obamacare, we have the social security system already in place and instead of making a new rule/law...fix the ones in disarray. Put the money into the SSA, and make people be accountable for their services. Less government tits on the dog, meaning we already have a health system in place, expand it.

My poor husband works 60 hours a week. Our healthcare through his work is getting crappier while he's having to pay more every year for a few years now, thanks to obumma care and all the lazy sacks who won't get out and work. And it's not fair. It's not fair at all. We're struggling to pay our mortgage and all the bills. It is so sad. It really is. It's very infuriating as well.

We pay our bills and have food, so I can say NO. But we don't go anywhere and don't have anything saved for emergencies or retirement, our house will be paid for in 5months (but have to sell right after because it has gotten dangerous around here). We have a roof over our head, not hungry, and great children and grandchildren so we are alright as long as nothing happens.

We are blessed, more so than some. I am retired (71) but my husband still works full time (79). We are able to meet our obligations at this point but worry if he stops working what will happen. We are very frugal and seldom go out for a dinner and entertainment. We go once a month to the fire hall for breakfast. We are in good health for our age, as well. The medical insurance premium is the stickler.

Retired RN...living on social security. Worked 2-3 jobs to raise my 4 children, never had a dime of welfare. Now because I worked so much, it put me a few dollars too much to even get food stamps or assistance with meds. Our costs go up every year, with little to no raise in social security...with the inky dink raise they gave last year, it made my check less!!! Where is the help for seniors? We are the forgotten generation

I have a good job but my 22 yr old son has been looking for 6 months. The entry level jobs are not there. Every time our President spends precious time defending himself or explaining some silly accusation, that takes away from his job of running the country. Let the man do his job. He is the captain of the ship that we are all riding on. Don't be so spiteful.

I heard this comment on Red Eye... very sad.. who is listening in the D party??? They have not responded to the working people for years. Our President HEARS We The People ...that's why he was elected.. by the way, I love Red Eye

I lived paycheck to paycheck for 24 years in the US Army. I decided to take the hard road, went to night school for 5 years, received a degree, and now contract overseas. I am far and away in the upper middle class now, but I am away from home most of the year. This is the price I am paying to ensure my family is well taken care of.

Marine veteran here. My husband and I have worked so hard for our children and then he got hurt. He's been fighting disability, insurance and Medicaid to get the help he needs. Our insurance shot up to over $1,000/month. We just can't afford that but he needs it (it seems I made $2,000 too LITTLE a year to keep the subsidy we had...) We rent from family or we would be on the streets. I'm so tired, something has to give. I'm tired of seeing him in pain and no one caring. He does have a procedure tomorrow (prayers are appreciated) for a spinal cord stimulation implant trial. If it works we have to pay for another month of $1,000 insurance to get a permanent one a month later, if it doesn't it opens the door for surgery and disability. The health care system has to get better so it's not as much of a struggle...
