Do you think Sen. McCain should step down?

What I heard was her saying 'he should step down and spend time with his family'. She is a doctor after all did you want her to lie about his condition like the media is doing? Besides, what's wrong with spending your final days with family? You people crack me up with your self-righteousness, as if there's no problem for Arizona to be without representation. What ever happened to "It's the People's Seat" not McCain's, or anyone else's? I know one thing, I wouldn't have voted for McCain 6 months ago if I had known he had an aggressive terminal brain tumor and the GOP wouldn't be in the crisis it's in now, would you?

How heartless what a bitch at this horrible time of his life trying to make a decision about his life!!!!!

MB: A good patriot? Wow you're dissing a major war hero because of a diagnosis? Your timing along with Kelli Ward and other insensitive pricks is beyond disgusting. Kelli Ward is foaming at the mouth with slobber drooling on her face for red meat. The way she spoke on that phone conversation does in no way help her whatsoever as she sounded cruel and didn't really give an eff for McCain. In fact she probably wishes that he dies so that her delusional mind thinks she can get that seat. Shut up already troll Ward. You don't belong anywhere bullying a war hero who has aged gracefully and got diagnosed with brain cancer of all things. With your tone in that phone convo that's exactly what you were doing! You lost fair and square to McCain. Own that! You're never going to get into office even if McCain would resort to any resignation and if Ducey was picking someone which wouldn't be you because you're toxic. Trump is enough of an insensitive buffoon and we don't need another buffoon added on to an institution that is supposed to help the citizens of this great country and create decent laws.

Kelli Ward made to most heartless statement I've ever heard - I wouldn't vote for her if she were the only person on the ballot. John is a fine upstanding person - if he choses to not step down, that only shows of the fine qualities this gentleman has - Ward has none!!!!!

Kelli just lost my future vote. insensitive

I agree with Steven Collins. It's not over until it's over. Ward is acting like a vulture. She shouldn't be deciding when or if McCain steps aside. He was elected and his position is his until HE decides it's time to leave. Ward's behavior is appalling.

it is distasteful for Kelli Ward to even suggest that John McCain step down, one day after announcing his medical diagnosis. The only person or person to make this decision is John and the entire McCain family and to suggest that Ms. Ward is a suitable candidate is her suggestion. Talk about taking advantage of a terrible situation!!!

We cannot afford to wait months for Senator McCain to get business done in Washington. I am sorry for his diagnosis but he cannot fulfill his duties in his oresent health.

Yes, I believe that Senator McCain should step down. Not because I feel he's a bad senator, but because I am a daughter of a 81 year old, who has similar medical problems. At this point we all know the inevitable, and I want to spend as much time with my Dad as possible. I am sure that Meghan and the other McCain children feel the same. You only have one Daddy in the world... And I want to love mine to the very end, I can imagine that Meghan wants to do the same. I also don't feel Kelly Ward was being inconsiderate, she , like a lot of us see the reality in the situation and think it would be the best interest for all.
God bless the McCain family in this time of need.

I don't think it is up to me to decide when or if he should step down. It also is not up to the vile Ms. Ward to make that decision either. I trust that everyone will take note of this ugly political antic and vote for ANYONE BUT Kelli Ward. To those who say he should have retired long ago or should retire now; Trump won the election and those of us who strongly dislike him just need to accept that. Likewise, McCain won the election. Those of you who strongly dislike him will just need to accept that. I hear so much unclassy rhetoric from the extreme right, I find it sad to see that this is what political debate has become.

Yes, Senator McCain should step down. There are too many extremely important votes coming up that require the full attention and attendance by all Senators. I wish him well but if he is a true Patriot then stepping down for the good of the country seems the right thing to do.

Get McCain outta there ! Ya got how many dead Vets who committed suicide in the ROACH INFESTED Phrmacy Phoenix VA !!!!!!!! McCain been off ! Sold out Apache lands to Mining Corporates !

  • Diane Carpenter - 7 years ago

Ms. Ward's comments were both callous and insensitive. She's obviously acting out of frustration after her loss to Sen McCain. He survived with honor as a POW and I'm sure he is capable of assessing his own situation. He always has Arizona's best interests at heart. Ms. Ward is like a vulture circling roadkill. Very unseemly. God Bless John McCain.

How dare she make that statement… But a lowlife… Just kick him to the curb… A lot of things about John McCain I disagree will put in the situation have heart let God make a decision not you because you want to job… Hopefully governor Ducey does not pick up… Disgusting

Maybe Dr Kelli Ward will now realize why they last the last election. They lack compassion.

It's been Wet Start John's time to go for quite awhile. He's holding up the political process more than usual. For once he needs to do the right thing for AZ and the US. Karma

  • Denise - 7 years ago

He is one of the few honest politicians out there governing our country!! My prayers have been with him and his family since the discovery of his cancer. He is also a fighter and can beat it!! God is so good and powerful and he will be along side of John McCain and his family to get through it!!

  • michael - 7 years ago

totally agree with commnet left by Frank Mince. and McCain is way past his "sell by" date. good time for change in az

  • Debbie - 7 years ago

I think Kelly's being very insensitive to Sen. McCain and his family after remarks like she's made she need to be at the bottom of the list. Her remarks to Dennis Welch about fake news shows you what kind of person she is. NOT WHO I WANT REPRESENTING ME.

  • Steven Collins - 7 years ago

It's not over, until it is over.

I would never vote for those attempting to get his job because of his diagnosis.

  • Kmarcus - 7 years ago

Yes he should step down. He should have retired already

  • Sher - 7 years ago

It is not Me. Ward's decision to make. John McCain can make his own decisions.

  • Nancy - 7 years ago

Truly John McCain's decision WHEN and IF he wants to step down and nobody elses!!

  • JB - 7 years ago

Kelli Ward should step down for attempting to take advantage of John McCain's illness for her own personal gain.

  • LC Diaz - 7 years ago

    Give Mr. Cain a break.

  • Frank Minice - 7 years ago

He came in on Goldwaters's coat tails and all these years, hehas not done anything for our state, never mind the country.

  • Gretchen Fenninger - 7 years ago
