I was registered as independent but was forced to vote Republican or Democrat in the primaries, and was not allowed to vote across party lines. This I finally went from Democrat to Republican.

Trump has tried running on the reform party ticket in 2000 and realized then no candidate outside of the 2 main parties has a chance! He really isn't a true Republican but a populist running on the Republican ticket!

Yes, Im independent and feel Trump is more independent then Republican. The republicans know this and hate the fact he won and are trying anything along with dems to get him out. We need another party to drain the swamp. I like Judith Rae's suggestion of Patriots Party.

How would that work? Wouldn't that require a whole new group of elected officials, nation wide, to jump on board with the Idependent agenda in order to work with the Independent President, if elected? Otherwise we would have at least 3 different arguments going on and possibly not getting anything accomplished! Maybe Dennis can give his insight(explanation) on this.

I think people just need to vote for the candidate not the party. People should vote for the person who is on the same page as you are. I think the party lines get in the way of success. I think the person voted should do as all of the people or at the very least the majority of the people they represent want them to represent. The elected person needs to put away the party. Hmmmm here's an idea maybe we get rid of parties have just have people represent all people.

Lisa, the Republicans, many of them, are not supporting Trump's Agenda or the American people. This is why we need a grass roots party created.

We need an Independent party: someone get started, call it the Patriots Party! Had lot of legal jargon to get through to create a new party.
Does it really matter?? I am a proud voter and supporter of Donald J Trump. We voted him in for the change to make America great again. We see that there are blocks at just about every thing he is trying to do. Who is to say that an independent could get different results??
