I think the law should pass. If you kill someone in a hit and run only stopping to check the damage to your vehicle. Heck ya i think he needs to spend years in prison for this terrible crime. Lala life matters just like any other person that has to endure this pain .

I feel that this monster should do more than 15 years as he cared more for his vehicle than this poor girl Lala! She had her life taken from her unexpectedly, so therefore that monster should get way more than 15 years. Her family is NEVER going to see her again, but his family still has him here on Earth. ???????? I'm sending my condolences to all her family, may GOD BLESS her family.

Not only do I totally agree this law should pass. I also believe if you run from an officer you get 5 years our streets have turned into death traps for the vermin who have no respect for any laws or human life. The courts don't seem to be able to find a backbone so the citizens can and will! When did our streets turn into catch me if you can? No more children, moms, dads, brothers or sisters gone... Justice for the innocent's.

No parent should ever have to go through this. This person or should I say monster was more worried about the damage to his vehicle than the minor child he hit and killed. They should never get to see the light of day. I could not imagine what this mother is going through it is so heart breaking. People who committ these types of crime should pay the price Heatley. One thing is an accident another is choosing to get behind a vehicle while intoxicated. Lala's law should be in place

To all the parent's, siblings, family& friends that had to go through the worst pain ever. Losing a child due to careless, reckless, fatal hit ans runs. Then only to here that the punishment and charges are a disgrace to their child and the dreams and future they could have had. Lamar Mays left my niece behind to die alone. But you didnt take the army of people that stand behind her.. We don't fear whats in front cus we know whats behind us.

My son was killed May 3rd of this year. We are just starting with the justice system. I am very upset with the justice system. We were told this guy could get 1 year in jail and probation. This makes no sense my son is no longer here because of his disrespect of the law. We are fighting for all we can get and really want this law changed and fast. This is happening way yo often with no price to pay.
