I was really into Vivid when i was a kid (one of my first tapes) but Cult of Personality just got over played in the 90s and I stopped paying attention to them, even though I always liked heavy rock music. When Corey mentioned the Bad Brains I realized wow, they do sound like later Bad Brains. I still listen to BB so I don't know why I forgot about Living Colour. Going to rectify that and start digging into all their other albums so I'm ready for the new one to drop.

My mom put me in to Living Color in the late 80s when I was in high school. I've always liked rock music, but got the "that's not real blackness" backlash. Then rap and rock/metal combined like Jay Z touring with Linkin Park or Public Enemy and Anthrax. If you think about it, rock dudes ain't classically trained singers. They screaming, rhyming, talking into mic similar to rappers. Don't even get me started on how some of the toughest, kick a nigga in the face rap songs sampled metal. Yes, all this music was ours in the first place.
