Signing Brooks would definitely help the Packers defense also give some help to the rookies and other young players. Mostly here contribute in the rotation and provide depth.

There's not much risk in signing him to a one-year contract. He has been one of the most durable and consistent players in the NFL and the off field stuff is in his past, the court system is just strung out over time. He would give the Packers a third rusher that can get the quarterback at anytime. Those players are harder to fine than you think. The guy was just in the Pro Bowl a few years ago and puts up the same numbers then as he does now. He stops the run, he rushes the passer nicely, he's durable, and he's consistent. Age, Off-field stuff, lining up offsides a few times....that all doesn't matter if he performs like he has consistently. I say sign him to a 1 year deal if I'm the Packers (which I think they will do by the end of the week). He can have a similar impact as Julius Peppers. He's always looking to win and this is a good fit for him and the Packers.

As a lifelong Niner fan, I say don't sign him. He is past his prime and lines up offsides more than any NFL player. Seriously. He has been flagged for lining up (with his foot) offsides lots of times, many times on crucial plays. 49er radio announcers chastised him on the air during games many times for doing this. Also, by the way he has sexual assault charges looming against him in California.

With Perry and his injury history, I say sign him
