I can't afford to rent an apartment. I rent a room off a friend that is giving me a break but even that is getting more expensive because prices are going up all the time. what is everyone expect poor people to do? jump off the edge of the planet and go away? poor people cannot even pitch a tent in a park without being chased off - poor people have nowhere to go - this shelter shortage is a disgrace! you all should be ashamed of yourselves for being inhumane and completely greedy on the backs of the poor and ill! shame on you all - I hope all you greedy folks out there will get their fare share of hardship one day and get a taster of living on the streets with nowhere go!!

Another concern in Metro Vancouver is "demovictions" the destruction of purpose built rentals and the evictions that precede them due to upzoning.
