Do you think Ed Carpenter should step out of the car, except for the Indianapolis 500?

No. He enjoys oval racing and should do it as long as he wants. Who are you to tell him what he should do?

I don't know how he feels about cutting back even further, but his team could probably benefit from his being more focused.

Yes. He may still have a shot at the "500", but he could attract better drivers and more sponsors with a full-fledged effort from two full-time cars.
