Riley has always been a loser, but now some expect him to suddenly be successful? He is nearing 100 losses in 15 years. Devaney and Osbourne didn't lose 70 games in 35 years. The best thing for recruiting would be for him to be fired.

This will be another losing season, and we'll continue to hear the "But he needs more time" excuse. He's been a solid loser for 35 years, now some think he can turn it around at an age a year older than Osbourne was when he retired?

Fools, he is at best a mild dumpster fire.

Is this a business decision.....one that is best for the team.....or we are all nice people here in Nebraska and we like nice people decision.....If its business and whats best for the team....this is absolutely an insane decision.....People boasting about Mr Rileys great recruiting...??? Somebody enlighten me on WHO he has recruited in the blue chip ranks......or even close to it.......furthermore.....good recruits are RAW talent.....they must be molded and shaped.....or coached...into great players...in the history of Mike Riley he has achieved this absolutely ZERO.......No.....Nada....times...Furthermore....Mr Riley has a history of showing up for games unprepared.....underestimating his opponent....There is absolutely NO tangible reason to extend....if you are doing whats best for the team and the business......Now.....us good natured wonderful husker fans love nice people.....gentlemen.......so what the heck.....lets extend him until our Precious Lord calls him home.......or when he fails to win a single game for 2 or 3 seasons in a row....which comes first......maybe we can change Lincoln to Riley Ne......has a nice ring for a nice guy.........people who ignore history are doomed to continue repeating its failures.....Go Big Red........but be nice

Coach Riley is the best recruiter we've ever had at Nebraska. The offense is where it needs to be and if Tanner Lee or another quarterback makes a good improvement to that position we will be excellent. The DC is new and has yet to make an impact. Riley has a ton of talent on the field now and they just need to gel. I like Riley

Since Tom Osborne we have had a lot of coaches (way too many) and kids see that and it makes it hard to get good recruits because of it we need to stop crying and wanting to fire the coach at the first sign of trouble.

Mike Riley is a nice guy, but college football today depends on wins/losses and not being a nice guy. If he had gone through the first two years of contract with 10-2 records and bowl wins, then maybe it should have been extended. But that is not the case, and this year does not look like a 10-2 record. Contract extension should have come at thew end of the season.
