It seems that more than a few LIBERAL trolls got their repeat buttons stuck while commenting. The last time the NDP got a chance to fiddle with the books the result was that the deficit was not that bad, the liberals, after 16 years, the deficit BILLIONS!!!!
The liberal trolls seem to keep harping on how bad it was under the NDP, if you look at the current NDP it appears that they are more to the right of center than the current load if liberals, it does not compute!!!!. I don't support either party but I am willing to wait and see. If the conservatives ever get their crap together it should make for an interesting ride next time around!!!

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Spend spend spend.Tax tax tax. Can't say many didn't tell you so. Too many short memories. Gonna take hard cuts to get the province in the black after the NDP is done.

The NDP will destroy the economy of this province again. 185 layoffs at Treo, Millions in Toll revenues lost. $60 million in development money wasted to shut down the Deas tunnel replacement bridge, a review of the Site C project costing money - if the project does not go ahead thousands of jobs lost and billions in clean power lost. A renewed fight against Kinder Morgan - more jobs to be lost. Lost jobs will curtail demand for housing and throw more tradesmen out of work. It will be difficult to stop the downward spiral. This scenario is not new - it is part of the creed of the NDP. These people do not understand business or economics. They don't realize that nothing is free - not daycare, not rent rebates,
not ten-lane bridges, not homes for people who won't work. When taxes start rising to pay for these pipe dreams, businesses will stop coming to BC, and some will leave. And the race to the bottom will continue.

Never has the NDP ever been elected that it didn!t result in greater tax burden on the working class, Their campaign is always about giving free benifits. But they never mention they will have to raise taxes or put the Province in debt to pay for it, Yet people fall for it time ab nd time again. WOW !

This is NOT the same party of 2001. VERY impressed so far. Thanks for thinking of the average person unlike the Clark dynasty.

This new NDP party enacted most of it's campaign promises in the first couple of months. WOW. Never saw that before. Keep up the good work!

The BC Liberals robbed both BC Hydro and ICBC to balance their budgets and now that ICBC is deep in the red and BC Hydro is not far behind and it's the NDPs fault. BC Interesting!

And BC's has more than doubled since the BC Liberals took office yet they had balanced budgets. Where did their 10's of billions of dollars of debt come from? They never showed it in the books butt it's there.

During the campaign they made promises with a caveat - we will see how the Liberal's books look. They have now confirmed that the books are better than even the Liberals thought; yet they don't deliver on the most costly promises. This budget spends the surplus and plus some, the raise the cost of insurance rather than figuring out how to fix the problem with spiraling costs. They will create modular homes to house the homeless, they need more than just a place to sleep. Throwing money at a problem and hoping it will stick has never worked.

I only see more expenses no revenue... the delay and review of the Massey tunnel bridge replacement will have an additional 100 million added to it jobs lost tax dollars lost bad start but not a surprise!! when was the NDP ever for the economy?? Maybe they will surprise us all and keep this economy humming along by green lighting the Massey bridge.. If not it's time to get in line for the newly increased disability:(

Typical of the Socialist NDP tax and spend

Where's the money to go after the money that was siphoned off of the tax tank into offshore tankers by those crooks who have tanked us!
What they've siphoned would water down the forest fires and fully fund their time in the barred tank! Call in as many cops as firefighters cuz there's a lot of putting out that's needed besides fires that require firing!!!

The BC Liberals wasted hundreds of millions - on losing legal challenges for example - when they robbed classrooms of much needed resources and people, for 16 years. Worse, they shifted untold millions around to their US corporate buddies and the cost of living skyrocketed; we got stuck with albatrosses - bad, costly infrastructure projects. We're fortunate we have the government that puts people and planet first, to try to restore balance. I see these values reflected in the budget.

How about the bridge or tunnel replacement.
Come line up with us and tell us some new stories. It ndp time hang on

Spend more tax more, they will never change, more red

  • Brooks - 7 years ago

A "budget" generally includes both revenues and expenses. This one seems to be heavy to one and not so much for the other.

  • Dave - 7 years ago

Typical NDP move - it took 3 terms for the Liberals to get us back in the green after the last NDP government-,and not even 6 months for the NDP to get us back in the red - when will voters learn - the N D P should never be given the chance to waste our future...
