Why are NFL ratings down this year

I reverse my Thursday night over-satuation vote (because more is better), but thought this might be the best venue to expose the true reason football is losing fans. The primary explanation for the declining fan base is that the NFL's greed did away with its best advertising vehicle, free local TV airplay, particularly Monday night football and Thursday night football starting midseason. Reduce access to TV football games, and the average fan will begin to lose interest, attend fewer home games (as is evident), as their attention gets focused elsewhere. Before the greed kicked in and enough free TV access eliminated, the fan base was increasing. Now you know the truth.
