Do you think professional sports leagues should require it’s athletes to stand at attention for the National Anthem?

Just because you have "free speech" doesn't mean they have the right to express their political views at work. These players are at work being paid to play in a football game, period. I have every right to express my views at work but the repercussion is that I can be fired by my employer. Which they have every right to do. Free speech is free from government intervention or censorship. Your employer cant tell you what to believe or think but they do have the right to prevent you from protesting while on the job at their place of employment. I have every right once I am off work to express my personal views any way I see fit as long as it is lawful. This is where I believe the players are wrong for protesting while on the job and why the NFL has every right to tell them not to do it at work. I have enough politics injected into my life at every turn I really don't want it crammed down my throat while watching sports. Its bad enough ESPN needs to change to PSPN - Political Sports Programming Network. What's next?

You must remember that you are watching NBC! Left wing liberals. Dan is towing the company line.

You cannot "start a conversation" by spitting in someone's face. When you decide to disrespect the Anthem by kneeling or raising a fist, you are spitting in MY face. There is no further conversation to be had, I want nothing to do with you. So the whole starting a conversation thing is a falsehood. You are only pushing people away, not bringing them in to talk about your cause.

I agree with Mike Tomlin, who said yesterday that he and his team are not going to allow politics to divide his team. They are there to play, and win football games.
I also agree that we do need to talk more about, and improve, race relations -- specifically police training and profiling across the country. Kneeling for the anthem is obviously a divisive wedge at a time when we need the opposite.

When you try to protest but offend others at the same time you take the focus off of the point you are trying to make. Pledging to the flag and showing respect to our country is a time for us to come together. What the players are doing is not going to make anyone get behind their cause because it so offensive.
They should show real strength next week by standing and finding another way to get people to understand their prospective. Their actions are only making things worse and creating more division.

Greg you bring up one situation. There are hundreds that go the other way unfortunately.

Wow, bigots like Greg Gagola listen to the show and are free to express themselves but ball players can't do their thing because they're black.
Was hoping your show would have avoided taking the bait and giving rump the attention.

That's ridiculous, this is the equivalent of an employer telling you what you can believe, think, and say.

So you must support the Black lives matter groups go around protesting and one of there chants is What do we want Dead Cops when do we want them now Or Pigs in a blanket fry um like bacon

Or how about the 5 Dallas Police officers massacred by Black lives matter person who wanted to kill as many white police officers as he could Oh the Cowboy players wanted to honor them by putting something on their helmets Oh surprise the NFL said no so much of them caring about our first responders
