its done and luckily the geriatrics from the old great lakes that turned our region into a 3rd world backwater and who believe in fairytales didnt get a look in. just like sally dover over at port stephens.
25 years great mistakes council had the wheel and the only thing we got was monster rate increase after monster rate increases and the worst planning laws in the country. a pair of dithering, uneducated geriatrics that should go to their retirement homes and knit and do us all a favour. waiting keenly for the first meeting where these 2 will vote against every development.

Choose the most innovative, the miidcoast needs to move forward, particularily in the social areas. Someone with vision, beyond the people being viewed as backward, inspire them to have the traits they lack.A mayor and councillors should be nurturers too.

Some-one for the people, listens to all even those who hate the Mayor, doesn't try to run the Worlds politics, a person who can't be contacted, must have their names in the telephone book, if you care to look up the councillors on offer, oh lookee here, he's not there, well how do you contact him, beats me, even his office has no contact details, he's there but not on our planet

Personally I don't have a problem if a candidate does not have the experience as long as they are willing to put the effort into learning the position, are fair and equitable, willing to look at all sides of an issue and act with integrity and fairness. A person that is willing equitable and not be bullied to make decisions that they are not comfortable with without bringing issues and risk analysis to bare and then help make a decision.

The challenge is huge, this new council must represent people from Elands to Gloucester to Tea gardens. The mayor will need to be across the many local issues that effect rate payers. I wish them all well.

I think new blood is required.
Ceratinly NOT Jan McWilliams, she has been Mayor before of Great Lakes, and turned her back when she was approached about an important issue, that concerned hard working people raising money for a charity in the area.NOT happy Jan!!

Want someone who isn't affiliated with major political parties, someone who isn't trying to influence world PC politics, but someone who realises we live on the best part of the coast and is passionate to advance and improve our LOCAL area
