Currently I live close to my work, but if my housing situation changes then most likely we'll have a much longer commute if we can't find anything affordable where we are now. And it's probably not a question of 'if my housing situation changes' but *when* since I'm sure the property owners will decide, even being long-term reliable renters, we're not nearly as lucrative as new tenants or a new building will be.

Because there is a legal minimum wage, it does not mean that business owners need skirt paying what the market will bear. Owners
pay up or go work for the competitor. It's called economics. Generally, business owners are home owners. The irony.
