Frankly, I always thought and still do, that the band was terrible and the vocals sucked almost as bad as Leonard Cohen !

Poll question is poorly phrased, comparing apples and oranges, I may not be a big Hip fan but Gord was in a high profile position to raise the national consciousness of numerous issues. Many people have spent their lives trying to bring social issues to the forefront, from more obscure backgrounds.
The question is divisive in its wording, I appreciate Gord's music and effort, doesn't mean I think there should be a holiday. Great example of using his position for good.
Hope Hip fans and others will continue to raise social awareness for the well being of this great country, expecting nothing in return.

If anyone should be honoured & recognized with a national holiday, it should be Terry Fox, not a musician in a Rock & roll band.
