I have enormous compassion for the homeless, I donate monthly to a charity supporting them but. I question the advisability of placing this facility in this particular location . On the one hand the risks to the children In the two schools , on the other hand the lack of facilities for the at risk tenants.theselves. Should the rights of the homeless override the rights of the local high property tax paying residents ? There is a definite conflict of interest here..I need some good arguments to convince me that the homeless 's rights should prevail.

Isn’t across from an elementary school one of the safer places to put this kind of development? Yes there are a lot of children around, but there is also an increased presence of adults that go along with that. There are people whose jobs it is to look after and protect the children on school property such as teachers, administrators, and supervisors.

As a resident of marpole, all this looks like is people scrambling for an excuse not to host disadvantaged people in their neighbourhood. If you are concerned about your child walking home, spend the 5 minutes it would take to make a plan to make sure they get home safe. There are people who need these shelters, and maybe you should start looking at them for what they are, people, and not just an inconvenience.

complex in general in Marpole. This is all single room occupancy, not for families, not for couples, but for singles, similar to hotels in the DTES, but in stacked modular form. Our point is that the contract-specified tenancy mix for this occupancy includes about 15 units for BC Housing/City defined Level 3 Needs individuals. These individuals should not be housed across from the schools. There are several options available - OMNI can loan a less lucrative site in the remaining 23 acres of land, instead of loaning THIS parcular corner. The city can alternatively use one of their bare properties in Marpole. There is also the public golf course with reams of land 3 blocks away. Either the tenancy mix must change to give all the rooms to individuals who are accepting treatment and counselling, getting their lives on track, or the complex must move to another spot in our neighbourhood.

The decision to have modular housing was made by the City of Vancouver. NO public hearing!! What happens to human right??

The people opposed to this project hold ugly prejudice towards homeless people. They assume criminality when they are the ones illegally blocking construction. Hurry up and arrest those criminals, it's getting cold outside!

is this is realy a ideal locaton for TMH in Marpole? Marpole TMH is just beside elementary school and senior nursing homes. It is realy realy unabel to convince myself to say yes. So many studentsl pass by durning school days from 5-17 yeas old.
Don't we have some other more suiteable locations for homless in city of Vancouver?

I also woudl like to say we need to invrest our furture by setting a good library instead.

Did the government think about our 2,500 +students ‘ safety? Where are the residents’ right?

No public hearing, no reasonable consultation with local residents; TMH location is just cross one elementary school and a block away from two other schools; posing potential risks to young children; authority and government should talk about neighborhood concerns and seek alternative locations for TMH.

Many of the children today will be homeless tomorrow.
We are all homeless in the eyes of mother nature.

The proposed Marpole TMH is too close to school. Also, the city did not conduct Hearing at the community residences. So, I vote No.

Public Hearing is important for decision making and resident's right. Government must return public hearing right to Marpole people.
