Do you think a Christmas tree should be allowed on top of Camelback Mountain?

Merry Christmas everyone! I agree with the comment that as long as the person or group that put the tree up take it back down after the holidays, the city should allow the tree to stay. We picked a lonely creosote tree along Old El Mirage Rd and decorated it, following several others who decorated random trees on the same road. A fun tradition that makes people smile as they drive by. We’ll “undecorate” the tree after the holidays. No big crime against the county, and a festive thing to do! Let the tree on Camelback stay. If the city is worried about the tree becoming “trash,” allow people apply for a free permit to put up a Tree. That way, the city can track who doesn’t take down their “permitted” tree(s) by a specified date after the holidays. Everyone wins & the holiday spirit can stay alive!

They call it trash under the ruling. Seriously?? That’s disrespectful to everyone who celebrates Christmas.

Come on to say the tree should not be there. Lord have mercy, this should not even be an issue. Is it causing trouble, no. Is it causing unrest on the mountain, no. This city, world has so many real problems that need to be addressed. Hey, I wish I could climb up there myself. But with severe ra. Not going to happen. To all that climb up there to see the tree, hang up something for me. Merry Christmas✌????

When did people become so cruel??? Where's the common sense??? I guess that vanished with kindness and helping mankind....hum

I to agree with Dee, that the tree stay there. It's not hurting anything. We pay the salary for our law makers. They need to be worried about other things then a little Christmas Tree. Do your job law makers like we are paying you to do or get out and stop wasting our tax dollars on petty things.

I totally agree with Dee, there are so many other things that can be discussing like...discuss how to help the homeless in the Phx metropolitan area, they give tickets if for "urban camping" if the sleep under bridges, loitering if in the parks or in front of businesses or in front of abandoned buildings, stop meeting about a tree that is a tradition atop Camelback mountain, make real use of your time as it is taxpayer money you are wasting.

If you notice the tree has the star of David on it, which covers both Christmas and Hanukkah.. And as long as whoever put it up takes it down, it's not littering.. Also agree with Barb's comment.Merry Christmas.

Seems Phoenix had turned into Grinchville. Very sad that people expressing celebration of this Christian season are being stifled. I’ll bet if the Muslims put up a tree, it would remain. Maybe even guarded by Phx bureaucrats. Political correctness run rampant. Bah humbug to Phoenix.

Amen to all previous comments & a Merry Christmas to all.

Its a strange sign of the times, when a single tree, put up during the holidays can require city tax payer employees to take a seat and actually discuss it! Its a single tree, it has become somewhat of a tradition, impacts no one, and is a harmless way of people of the community to show a simple sign of the holidays.

Dee has already said what I believe.

Yes but people who put it up must take it down after the holiday

Arizona law makers should be focusing on the real issues. Ending a fun holiday tradition that harms no one is a waste of taxpayers money.
