Does the NHL decision to green light Seattle's expansion bid kill hopes for another Canadian franchise?

I've given up on the NHL. There's enough talent out there for 24 teams, tops. The average team now has two lines of NHLers, one line of AHLers and one line of beer-leaguers. Unwatchable. And yes, Bettman is anti-Canada and pro-owners, but that's not news... Sad, sad, sad....

Quebec City and Hamilton should have had new teams by now. The worst NHL move was not having a Canadian commissioner. Gary Bettman has never been a friend to Canada.
We won't get a fair chance at getting one until Bettman is replaced. I know of a former Oiler and King who could fill that job in a hurry.

With no Stanley Cup winner since 1993, Canada is rapidly becoming a footnote in professional hockey. Toronto is arguably the only Canadian city that has the size and pull to really have ongoing influence in an American-dominated NHL, but the Leaf's organization's principal focus has long been far from the game itself. In the light of Toronto's economic strength, the names of Toronto Maple Leafs players are embarrassingly absent from the lists of awards that salute the great, and the meager representation they have there is far, far in the past.
