Why don't you run a poll asking if Tennessee Voters should decide?

The people who have commented apparently have never lived in a state where marijuana was made legal and/or are just ignorant of the law enforcement problems it creates. It is a severe problem, and is only getting worse. It impairs a person's ability to drive. While there are tests to determine if a person is driving under the influence of the drug, the laws have not caught up with the explosion of people who now use the drug. Those who use the argument of other drugs being legal begs the question. With that argument we should just make use of cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin legal. Tennessee should not go the way of the other liberal states that have bought into these fallacious arguments.

My dad had a Parkinson’s scare and our entire families first thought was that we were going to have to move somewhere where marijuana was legal so he could be safely medicated instead of being put on harmful pills. Marijuana is safe, anyone who doesn’t think so, doesn’t know very much about the subject.

It isnt safe. How can anything be safe that slows your motor ability? It impairs your judgement. It is a gateway drug. It teaches kids to break the law and starts them out in school. Who smokes dope? Bad people smoke dope. Just say no!

It is a depressant, it makes you depressed. Your cognitive abilities slow down.

It is against the law of God. Did Jesus turn bread to pot? No! He turned water to wine. It isnt safe!

Mary, just like any other medication, there can be side effects. But with that said, in states with medical cannabis the accident rate has actually went down. People always bring up the alcohol thing as if it's legal to drive while drinking. But we have individuals on oxycontin, xanax, and all other forms of narcotics with the ability to impair at a higher amount and nothing is said. But mention cannabis and we're going to have thousands more wrecks a day. The worst part of all of this is there is no way to test to see if the cannabis in someone systems is actively causing psychotripic effects or not, since it can stay in your system for up to 30 days.

I have never heard of any accidents caused from a person being under the influence of marijuana. In the states where it is legal, the car accident stats did not go up. Marijuana and alcohol can not be compared. How can one tell if a person is driving "under" the influence for any prescription given by a doctor. Most medications prescribed are created in a lab, have harsh side effects. People really should educate themselves on the positives of marijuana instead of listening to the myths that seem to blind most of the benefits which out way what some would say side effects. People that have never smokes have no idea about the "side effects".

Smoking marijuana impairs a person’s ability to drive, like alcohol. How would it be determined if a person is driving under the influence of marijuana?
Isn’t this just another danger to the public?
