Do you support the B.C. government's pot plans?

Either legalize it and class it with tobacco and alcohol or don't, it's not that hard. Don't smoke and drive and you may still need to pass a drug test to work.... I don't smoke the stuff but I'm tired of government spending my tax dollars nickle and diming their way thru it! Get it done or don't do it

Doctors and Police not happy with the results of legal cannabis in Colorado. They claim a 70% increase in cannabis related traffic deaths since legalization. Canada's media is aware of the reports. (?)

Legalizing pot is just another way for the government to collect taxes.

I really don't want to smell the stench of pot in public places. It's as bad or worse than cigarette smoke

@Tired of bureaucratic confinement -- Studies have been done, and done, and done for decades on second-hand smoke. One study recently found that a smoker in a suite at the end of a hall can light a cigarette, and by the time it's done, smoke particles have reached the suites at the other end of the hall. Everybody along the hall gets the smoke whether they smell it or not, as cigarette smoke scent dissipates quickly, but the residue remains in the air, on walls, on furniture. Weed smoke is worse because it's heavier, lingers longer, and effects badly people with breathing issues; lots of children have asthma. Weed smoking should not be allowed in communal settings, or livings such as condos, apartments, etc., and never around children. Alcohol is different in that a drinker isn't pouring their drug down anyone else's throat, or up their nose.

So, you can drink booze at any Provincial Park or recreation area & act like an obnoxious twit, but, don't roll up a fatty and chill because this is a place where people bring their kids? Will these young impressionable minds be warped by the knowledge that someone is having a puff?

How about Vancouver's beach scene? You can't smoke at the beach and you can't smoke in your vehicle. I'd imagine that the newly-drawn cycling lanes will be clogged by beach-goers, as they take intermittent breaks from tanning to have a toke.

I really wish someone would test the theories associated with 2nd hand smoke, as I doubt very much that someone standing 10-20 feet away from a pot or cigarette smoker is at all affected by the substance in question. If I am correct, society is being controlled by a minority of whinging flakes who use kids as a shield(excuse) when expressing their personal dislikes, which, apparently, take precedence over the desires of others.

I never realized, until recently, how significantly legislation in our country was driven by the squeaky wheel of the moment. I should start bitching louder about things which irk me.
