Casting of characters spot on. Having read all the books Tom Burke is fantastic as Strike just how I imagined him. Holliday Granger excellent to as Robyn can't wait for next book.

Until this adaptation of the 3rd book, I thought that the televised versions of the series so far were superior to the books. Sadly, not so for this one. Far too much was left out from the original story, making the TV version a bit nonsensical. The original book was just short of 600 pages, so it could quite easily have stretched to three episodes, if it had been, it might have made more sense. Having said all that top marks to Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger - the chemistry between these two is palpable - they are just so perfect in these rĂ´les.

Not an easy book to adapt to screen but maybe if more air time given might of worked, actors are superb but the adaption to TV was sadly lacking it's not a story you can cram into two episodes
