The world was fine without synthetics for thousands of years. Recycling manufactured goods into other products seems like zero sum economics. Real people don't use straws.

Absolutely single disposable plastic as well as take out styrofoam should be banned. Neither of these breakdown and both are entirely unnecessary while greatly negatively impacting our environment.

Get real - are we serious about the things affecting our planet or not. Respect ALL living things! Simple - stop allowing corporations to determine everyone's destiny.

Unfortunately without rules our neighborhood would be over run with lazy groups of people. That’s why we have no dumping signs everywhere. Not everyone is responsible. If you woke up every morning to someone dumping garbage next to your home you would want rules. If we force industry to use biodegradable materials the world will make great products that are convenient and do not choke our environment. The government has to lead here.

manufactering and selling products must be made biodegradable. We can all learn to reuse containers, easily. packaging must stop using more plastic wrapping than the products.

F*cking Vancouver. The ban capital of the world. Can we just let people make their own choices.

Instead of blanket bans it would be far better to encourage industry to use PLA bio-degradable plastics for all disposable items.
