The mother seems to have no redeeming qualities in there first 17 lines. I wouldn't want to read about a mother who's is that exasperated and that impatient with her child. The author, in my opinion, needs to show some kindness or tenderness to this woman in the opening. If it comes later, it comes too late for me.
