Cannabis is far safer than alcohol in every way. There is no room for double standards here. I agree, if it is smoked have the same laws we now have for tobacco. Given that vaporizing is NOT smoking, there is NO combustion, and therefore none of the offensive odors that go along with smoking, people should be allowed to vaporize anywhere they want, except of course in an automobile while driving. All of this is a matter of common sense and fairness. So lets just cut the hypocrisy and all learn how to get along.

Smoke is smoke, tobacco or pot, they have the same health concerns so should have the same laws. All of us smokers had to give it up because of the health hazard we were imposing on others. Smoking pot indoors or in public is not the same as drinking at all. Edibles, sure but not smoking.

Tobacco companies were found guilty for their product as the governments that endorsed the cigarettes waltzed with laws that provide immunity for these governments. If this is the case today then the cannabis growers should expect to be caught in the lung lawsuit cross fire as the various Canadian governments hide behind their newly minted laws to protect themselves. (If warnings labels are shown does that exonerate or implicate the profiteers)

If pot didn’t smell so bad, I would consider it more like alcohol with similar rules and regulations. But because the stench on people’s clothes, cars, in the air, and secondhand smoke effects on others (especially children), I have a problem with lenient rules. I don’t want to face the smell everywhere I go and not enjoy my right for clean air and scent free areas. It’s bad enough smelling dog poop everywhere I walk now. I think the regulations are good. But I think there will be a definite need for more police patrolling at road stops and parks or beaches. I think it’s good that people will be able to legally grow their own plants. Maybe that will encourage people to stay home and smoke, rather than the need to be in public spaces. I won’t even go to concerts any more, because the smoke and pot smell is so bad. These are just my opinions and concerns.
