I heard Love Me Like sung by Ella Mai on a Google Play radio station recently. I was so impressed by the song, I searched for an album, hoping to hear more good songs with that upbeat-but-not-noisy sound. This album has to be the most amazing collab album that I’ve EVER listened to. First, wonderfully missing is the overwhelming theme of sex and deeming of females some hip-hop music employs. Second, the tracks from the huge variety of this corral of artist like Lil’ Wayne, 2 Chains, Nas, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and so many others are so satiating for the ear. I cannot recall the only times that I’ve ever listened to albums repeatedly and without skipping tracks was with Prince Purple Rain and Nicki Minaj’s Pink Album. Also, the male/female collabs are simply awesome, especially the Shea Butter Baby with Ari Lennox and J. Cole, this track with its fabulous delivery makes it seem as if they are performing a vocal waltz, stellar!!! The album also has it’s humorous moments with Gucci Mane rapping that his girl went through his phone at 3am and with a play on Tupac’s Brenda’s Having a Baby, Lil Wayne raps, “Brenda’s having a Baby, I hope it’s not my baby. Mike Will Made It topped off this magnificent work by lacing the tracks with deep, soul shaking, incredibly rich beats, samples, melodies and the manipulation of sounds to make this the best hip/hop movie sound track I’ve heard to date.
