The bears didn’t want to pay the money! Start fresh pay less!

Create plays and blocking and I'sure he will do the rest. Why give another team his talents? Howard has proved himself in the past. I'm not saying to go back to running but mix it up.

Howard is a strong RB, the only issue i had watching him was it takes awhile for him to get to top speed. I think if we worked on our offensive line and got guys who can protect and open holes he would do great things .

Last time the Bears traded a player of this caliber because he didn't fit the system was Greg Olsen, and the Bears have struggled at the position ever since. It was a bonehead move then and it would be just as unwise to get rid of Howard now. The Bears should look to the Patriots and how they use multiple backs with different skill sets. They should keep Howard, work in more Cohen and seek an upgrade over Cunningham in either fa or the draft.

Why trade away a proven back. Injuries happen all the time. We should get another back to complement Howard and use Cohen more out of the slot and two set backfields. If one of them go down we still have an awesome backfeild . Doesn't make sense when we have such a commodity that so many teams want that you get rid of him. I say save him for the colder weather in playoffs to pound the crap out of deffenses like this last year at the end of the season. Getting another draft pick to hopefully find a replacement doesn't seem logical when are asperations are Superbowl or bust. Let's just stack the deck and bear down . GO BEARS

Can We let this doesn’t fit “the system” thing go! He’s a Top 5 running back in the NFL, look at what he’s accomplished in his career despite not playing the 1st 4 games of his rookie year, plus this year with all that RPO, but Howard really needs a lead blocker & zone blocking schemes intertwined into Nagy’s “system” 20-25 carries a game & he will grind down defenses, immensely increase the quality of play-action & he will have 1200-1300 or so yards......Easy! I think it’s a bad reflection on the coach and the coaching staff when they say a Talented football player doesn’t fit their system. If you have a Talented player, If you cant find a way to make him a fit for your system find a way to make your system a fit for him. & there were instances of excess cuteness on offense last year. #24 gives us the toughness & physicality to pound teams into submission for wins. & not many NFL teams Have a running back ours!

Only if we trade him for antonio brown straight up or a 7th round with him

Why should we get rid of a guy who had one bad year under a new coach he's a great power back and proved it towards the end the season when they found out what system makes the whole offense work. Everyone has a bad year look at Derrick Henry just as soon as they were going to trade him he found himself he went off give him this year let him prove himself.

Howard is Great. With Long healthy, they could add what ran our old O, to our new O, But Sadly, Depending on what they can get, I'd Move him. 2nd? 3rd and 5th? This Draft will have star backs in Rds 2-5...We could take 2. There's also this crazy Notion in my head they should trade him, Trevathan, Gabriel, and a 2020 2nd for Antonio Brown and a 2019 4th. Use the extra cap room to grab Cb K. Jackson, He's only 2-3 Mil more than the Nb Yaall wanna resign. 1 F.a Cb. Robinson, Brown, Miller. @ Wr. Gotta push. Need a Vet Edge Who Can Stop the Run. Play the Field on S, I Like Tre Boston for 3Mil a Yr. Otherwise gonna have to trade Howard, be able to. As of Now, Draft 2 Cb, 2 Rb..Trade Howard. Trading a former pro-bowler who is still effective is beyond stupid. Let's not Robbie Gould ourselves again.
Maybe just maybe incorporate more two back sets to keep the defenses guessing.

It makes sense to trade him now, while he still has one year on his rookie contract. I do think people need to put some respect on his name. Hes a great team mate, and a hard runner. Id like to keep him, but it makes sense to trade him now.

To everyone saying maybe Nagy should change his offense to fit him we clearly already have seen that in John Foxs offense... it's to obvious that when hes on field we are 90% of the time going to run it so hes not going to be effective

I think we should keep Jordan Howard and draft another elusive back and run the offense w three different backs plus get them all involved in catching

EVERYONE talks about how it's not a fit for NAGY offense maybe NAGY should evolve an offense around a big bruising back? Eh? #LETSGOJOHO

  • Tyler Muller - 5 years ago

Yes but only if we get a decent pick (3rd round hopeful) or have plans to go after Ingram or Coleman or if they fell in love with a back at the combine
