Obviously many people have not actually listened to Rush. If they had they would have known he is not a racist, something that seems to be tossed around as much as a salad these days. Just because he is a conservatist in his politics doees to make him a racist. Seems everyone who does not agree with Leftist ideas are racist. Its lost all meaning for most people cause of these insane accusations.
He is a political commentator with a sense of humor. I have loveed his analaysis and mocking of our times and the absurdity that does exist in politics. Yes he made jokes to illustrate the double standards etc. Lighten up. He mocked jokingly to prove points even to the point to expect the out of context and twist the next day in news of what he said. . Its sad cause many accusing him of this never really listened to the guy. They should have they might have had enjoyed his wit and commentary and gained some insight and understanding. He deservered the "Medal of Freedom". He is a great thinker and a good man.

I am a woman who served in the military from 1984 -1993. Rush Limbaugh disparaged and vilified female service members with a vengeance throughout the 1990's and other radio talk show hosts joined him. His rhetoric negatively impacted women (and by default male) veterans trying to integrate and join the civilian job market. Though conservative hate radio let up some in the years after the invasion of Iraq when both men and women military were coming home in body bags - the damage had been done making it difficult for veterans to get a job. Medal of Freedom is not appropriate for someone who is from an industry that contributes to the military veteran suicide rate.
