Council of Dads is an excellent show, well written and great actors! So real, I could relate to the ups and down. I so wish it had been renewed...

This sounded like a great show but I should have known better of NBC. Every dynamic possible has to be in our face during the first episode. Scott should have been in a few episodes so we got to know his family relationship and who and where all these kids came from. Show is moving much too fast.

Just no. This show was nauseatingly cheesy. The story moved too quickly and left nothing to the imagination. But that's what happens when you have a cancer scare, childbirth, marriage, death all in one episode. We got a glimpse, and much more, into the lives of these characters. I forgot to mention that one character suffers from an alcohol addiction. I am hoping the next episode or two at least offers something that is not predictable. If you want to know...my prediction is that this show will include every possible issue that a family might encounter but handled in the most predictable way possible.

See previous comment w the show. I’ve been searching the next episode of this new show. I liked a lot about it. I just found out they have already changed the date of next episode. My first thought was “feels like the show is going to be bounced around like, most currently, This is Us. Never know what the subject will be, if Jack already died, if, if, another inconsistent — so many shows I like I drop them because they jump around w subjects, day show is on, pc stuff already mentioned. As a viewer, I don’t want to work that hard to try to figure out all diff timelines in actor’s life, when it’s going to be on, rumors of cancels— yep kinda like the others”this is us”, how to get away w murder, million little things”, and my favorite of course that went everywhere and then some; the episodes on different nights of week. I THINK WE WOULD ALL STILL BE WATCHING SCANDAL IF THEY JUST CONTINUED ON WITH THE MAIN PLOT BUT IT TOOK SO MANY Twists AND TURNS, I got lost.
I’m hoping the new show “Council of Dads” stays on the storyline which certainly is interesting. Three friends of the deceased husband and his widow could take us through some new drama; friends there from the beginning of a birth of the child of the deceased husband and new widow could open up some new adventures; being there for someone else in her time of grief. What could possibly go wrong?????. Could be a new thing. Hope they decide what night they want to start on and stick with it. Has enough possibilities to overlook 15 political “add ons”.
    Just saying!

I was totally loving this episode and look forward to seeing more . I left it on my PVR and will re watch closer to the next segment and hopefully a series . It was a feel good movie . I loved This Is us and need something to take its place . Hoping this will be it .

I turned it off after 30 minutes. I could see where it was going and I didn’t want to come along. I won’t be tuning in to this show.

I agree with the others. I thought it was going to be a good family show. No way am I going to let a tv show tell me that a five year old knows whether they want to be a boy or a girl and the parents would be perfectly happen with it. I am sick of all this PC crap being shoved down our throat’s. Since when did the entertainment industry become God and they are the only ones that know what is correct.

I watched this, and the more PC stuff that was jammed in it, the more turned off I was. This is not reflective of the experiences of the majority of Americans, it's fringe far left agenda run amok. And I'm a middle of the road voting democratic person. I won't be watching this again, sorry it's not normal, demonize me if you must, your opinion matters as much as mine, zero. It's an opinion get over it. In the meantime I look for entertainment elsewhere and politics I can judge for myself.

I agree with Maryjo and Becky. The races of the children didn't bother me, I could even deal with the gay Dr (provided there were no inappropriate scenes) but when the show revealed JJ's potential storyline - that was it for me. DONE. Will never watch it again. I imagine the gay Dr will be walking JJ through his/her sex change in future episodes - no thank you.

This pilot "council of dad's" touches of many lives. It makes you emotional, happy, gives good advice on how to parent and work as a family. I enjoyed the pilot and characters involved. Thank you for the experience.

I liked the show will give it a chance to move forward in the future. Hard to judge with only one episode.

This show looked good seeing I am a big fan of This is Us and A Million Little Things. But then I see all the pc stuff that is going to be crammed down our throats! He had a black daughter, he adopted an Asian child who was obsessed and in a closet, the wife's associate is gay and the clincher of it all a 1st grader that identifies as a boy!! As everyone attacks the grandmother for not thinking this is normal. I'm done. It could have been good if the writer wasn't trying to impress a certain group

This show was a big 0. Thought it might follow the emotional stream of This Is Us and A MIllion Little Things and even back to Parenthood and Thirtysomething.. It totally missed the mark
It tried to cram everything into 1 show...what a failure. I could help write it but nobody asked!!!!
