It doesn't matter what quarterback they bring in here, if Pace doesn't improve the offensive line nothing will change. And bringing in this lineman from the Seahawks isn't going to improve a thing. If the quarterback only has 3 seconds to read and or check down he will never have success here in Chicago!

Who else is out there??? LOL. It all boils down to coaching. The best coaches will make an average player into a superstar if the student is hungry, and desires to be the best that he can. It's up to his coach to find out how to help his understudy achieve that goal. Bill Belichick has a way of doing that with most players., and if he can't accomplish that objective, he lets them go after a season. E.g. Anthony Carter (Vikings), "Ocho cinqo" Chad Johnson (Bengals), Matelius Bennet (Bears), et al.

There is an esoteric statement that says, "When The Student Is Ready, The Master Will Appear"

It is up to the O-Line Coach to help Ifedi avoid those nagging penalties. Take him back to the basics & Fundamentals. Start all over again because he missed some critical elements along the way, thus picking up bad techniques.
A lack of, or weak concentration, sometimes contributes to some of those penalties. If he is eager, hungry, and truly dedicated, he will improve. Old habits die hard, but a good handler knows how to tame his horse.

Let us start holding these coaches feet to the fire. Let us put the blame first on them before we blame the players. When we start doing that, they will know that they have to do the job they were hired to do, WHICH IS TO DEVELOP THE PLAYERS ABILITIES. Assistant Coaches individually create a Great Team. Each ensures 1st class performance by their core players. When they all click, the whole team collectively looks awesome, and fun to watch. So hopefully, these ex Eagles Superbowl new Bears Coaches can impart their prowess upon their young talent trades, and drafts.

A lot of times it's not just skills, but a full dose of Psycho cybernetics at work that can help pump up these young players to succeed. The Late Buddy Ryan (85 Bears) was great at motivating his defensive players. He challenged them, he called them names, he convinced them that they were better than everybody else in the league, he told them they would shut out teams, and they did in the playoffs. He would accurately predict QB sacks in a game, and his boys exceeded that. Bottom line, Buddy knew how to get to each player. Like Belichick, he knew what each player was capable of doing, and used it to gain maximum advantage. Buddy Ryan, Best Defensive Coach of all Times.
    His 46 defense still lives.

It all begins, and ends with the good, and Great Coaches.
