I know I'm a little late in the game, but I just finished binging Ugly Betty. I don't disagree with a Betty/Daniel coupling, but I needed more bread crumbs to appreciate him following her to London. Like when he accidentally kissed her when he thought he was kissing his wife that had passed, It would have been optimal if Daniel didn't know he kissed Betty, but Betty felt something at that point and we the audience got to appreciate the spark starting. When Daniel spent Christmas with the family, that should have been continued and fostered and more build up needed to occur to buy the two of them falling in love over the seasons. Truth be told, I thought Gio and Betty's chemistry was more believable. I would have liked at least the Daniel/Betty music montage of their good times! Overall, sweet episode. Thank you!

I love love loves this show!! It moved me every time I watched it. The show created such strong emotions for each character. I think the writing was phenomenal. It was awesome to watch the characters evolve in a generic way. It don’t seemed forced or just “for tv”. I felt like I was able to connect with the cast and see myself in the scenarios. I loved that in the bed Daniel let Betty go. She was able to make London her own and learn her job. However, I wanted to burst when they “bumped” into each other. I was like Yesssssssss!!!! I would’ve loved one more episode just to see their chemistry in a romantic way. I also think it may have felt weird too because they created mor of a brother sister kind of relationship or best friends. If they ended up together though I think it would’ve gave flourished because Daniel knew that Betty was not going to allow the less than behavior. Betty always spoke her mind and had the best intentions for Daniel. She made him step out of his comfort zone and be the best version of himself. I think when some shows reboot they lose the “magic”, but I would loveeee to see just one more episode. Also I was thrilled that the Henry romance didn’t take off either. That’s another post though! This was like a good book I couldn’t put down!

I loved reading this article! I just re-watched the entire 4 seasons and am craving another. I never really saw Daniel and Betty together but the Season 4 finale piqued my curiosity! I would be over the moon for a reunion episode or movie showing us where everyone is now and what happened with Betty and Daniel!

The season finale leaves you wondering if Betty and Daniel get together, but he flew all the way to London! I never saw chemistry between them until episode 19 of season 4 and of course episode 20. Both have grown in so many ways, and they're perfect for each other. If there's ever an Ugly Betty movie, hopefully we will find out what's in store for them.

Just finished the show 5 minutes ago and jumped on to look for any news of a revival etc. Totally missed the show at the time so went in with no knowledge other than a love for Ferrara from also binging Superstore this year.
Loved it. But for this poll... I never saw Daniel and Betty together. Sure, from a narrative point of view it's what you aim for but I didn't really think they suited each other at all. I'd assume the final season would see them "working it out" that they "belonged" together but nope, that actually seemed tacked on. I'd like to think one of the calls she made walking through (actual!) London (not the obvious set of a few episodes ago) would be to a would-be suitor. Maybe she's single when she meets Daniel, but I'd hope now-worldy wise Betty would be able to consider it herself and not romanticise the journey.
She's a strong, independent woman now. A "boss babe", as it were, and she doesn't need the (still!) man-baby Daniel who's just acting on instinct AGAIN.

I would love to have seen Betty and Daniel end up together! I feel like that’s what was happening... Back then they didn’t do post credit scenes like they do now but come on - Give us a Daniel and Betty happy ending!
I’m so happy that Marc and Justin are both in relationships at the end. One thing though, I’d love to see Ignacio settle down with someone in his house how that everyone moved away.

I would have loved to see them together in the end, perhaps a little cliché flash forward moment, even. Yes, he does depend on her, and she thrives on keeping him in check, but I think many real relationships are like that, you find someone who completes and challenges you. They're beneficial to each other in small, strange ways but they definitely take care of each other and are protective. Betty wouldn't get where she is without Daniel, with new found confidence and a hardened attitude, and he wouldn't be such a gentled man without her. A romance would have been nice even if they didn't last long.

I completely agree with what Leeky said. I personally feel like I need closure on whether Daniel figured out what he wanted (my imagination just isn't cutting). I definitely need a movie or something to see where they are in the future even if that means they didn't end up together.
I also LOVED the mention "Pushing Daisie" gets because I love that show anyone i mention it to hasn't heard of it.

I’ve done a few (hundred) rewatches of the show, and every time I’m amazed I didn’t ship Daniel and Betty when I watched the original run. They always adored each other from pretty early on - and that was even more evident in season 4. I wish they would have started making it more obvious earlier in the season, but I’m still happy with what we got. Though, I wouldn’t say no to a reunion.
I definitely think Daniel caught feelings first, and Betty needed some time to catch up (God Bless Claire Meade their original shipper!) Here’s hoping they’ve been living happily for ten years!!

I really wish they would have ended up together. While to some their codependency seems unrealistic, I think it’s adorable. Henry was an idiot that later realized he loved Betty but felt forced to be with his baby momma. Gino was just never ideal for her, he was just aggressive, compulsive and just blah. Daniel was a spoiled rich man who we watch grow and developed a loving and caring relationship with Betty. I think finally in love with a friend isn’t easy but very rewarding in the end.

So.... I believe that a revival (for a least 2 hours) is definitely needed. We need to see Daniel finally happy in a healthy relationship with someone (Betty). I do think that Daniel would eventually get back into editing. We need to see Betty finally in a healthy relationship and being a boss in the office.. with still an occurrence of walking into a glass door or tripping over something.. just to show she still the same deep down. It would be great to see them together, married with children, struggling to find pacifiers, going to the store with juice stained clothes and then seeing the transformation of when they’re at work controlling whatever situation they’re in.. I’m here for it!
