Did the show help you stay calm during the election last week?

The Georgia news calmed me down but not the way I thought. I checked Twitter first thing Friday morning and Alexis Ohanian had tweeted "I'm talking about Georgia but y'all not wrong." Then I saw he had first tweeted *peach emoji* *eyes emoji* which his followers thought was a reference to Serena. I must have laughed for 5 minutes. That's the moment I released stress I didn't know I had.

I wish I could say the show calmed me down, but it did the opposite. Not gonna lie. I can only speak for myself. I have a vested interest in this as I work for the government. No one of my colleagues, not even friends of mine that were higher up in my agency was able to relax and not feel the full weight and anxiety of this until Saturday at 11:25am when networks called it. While Trumps actions seem completely benign to some, they’ve had devastating consequences to people’s jobs, mental health, and overall health. Ive had to stop the main project I came to this agency to work on because it has mild regulation implications. That’s my arena of expertise. You can’t just snap your fingers and come up with some other project. The implications over the past few years hit me pretty hard to be honest. In my pockets, certainly in my profession, in my retirement fund. Elections have severe consequences for some. I’m happy to see a brighter day and future. All of my colleagues and friends breathed sighs of relief and shed real tears of joy and rejoiced. My real work can continue without the shackles. Even my boss, whom I assume voted for Trump with mild enthusiasm, seemed more upbeat about my future and what I will be able to accomplish now that I can resume my original path in a meeting this week.

Yours was a perspective I needed to hear and certainly respect. But not one I shared.

I have to say thank you sooooo much Rod and Karen. You both have been a God-send during this pandemic, this election, and this social media mess. I love y'all.

Sounded like y'all saying Stacey Abrams hit Kemp with that Obi Wan: If you strike me down, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
